    Desde los escritos de Augusto Sandino, y con mas intensidad desde el triunfo de la revolucion cubana, hay una relacion estrecha entre la vida belicosa y guerrera, por un lado, y la escritura, por el otro. Contrariamente a la concepcion de "armas y letras" del Siglo de Oro, la escritura moderna de los guerrilleros no consiste en escribir poemas de amor, novelas, es decir textos, de cierto modo sin un fin determinado. Por lo contrario, sus textos desempenan un papel concreto y pragmatico para los guerrilleros: Sirven para difundir ideas, dar sugerencias y propuestas practicas de y para la revolucion.
