    O intuito deste trabalho é destacar a importância do escrito juvenil Traumland para a formação do poeta Georg Trakl, por meio de uma leitura cerrada do texto. Sob a forma de uma lembrança do narrador, esse breve relato apresenta uma experiência de iniciação ou perda da inocência oriunda da percepção do mal no mundo, concentrado na figura de uma prima doente, Maria. O conflito entre o anseio romântico (Sehnsucht) pleno de expectativas e entusiasmo e essa realidade aterradora, vivenciado como uma quebra no sentimento (Stimmung) de harmonia cósmica, impulsiona uma transformação no sentimento e na visão de mundo do protagonista, que metaforicamente pode ser lida como a transição de uma poética puramente romântica para uma poética mais sintonizada com as exigências do século XX, especialmente no sentido da dimensão reconhecida ao mal irremediável, que não pode ser completamente romantizado. This paper aims to show the formative importance of the juvenile text Traumland to the poet Georg Trakl through an intense interpretative reading. This brief tale presents - as a recollection of the narrator - an experience of initiation or loss of innocence resulted from the perception of evil in the world, recognized in the sickness of his cousin Maria. The conflict between an enthusiastic and filled with expectancies romantic longing (Sehnsucht) and a terrifying reality which breaks the feeling of a cosmic harmony (Stimmung), drives a transformation in the ways the main character feels and views the world. This change can be metaphorically interpreted as a shift from a purely romantic poetic stance towards a standpoint keener to the XXth century's demands, especially in the sense of the acknowledgment of an unconquerable evil that cannot be fully romanticized.

    [Inhaltstext aus den Verlagsangaben: Der große Roman über die Sehnsucht nach Unsterblichkeit. Johanna Mawet ist Molekularbiologin und forscht an Zebrafischen zur Unsterblichkeit von Zellen. Während eines Forschungsaufenthalts in den USA gabelt sie einen merkwürdigen, alterslosen Herrn auf. Je näher sie ihn kennenlernt, desto abstrusere Erfahrungen macht sie mit ihm. Schließlich gibt er sein Geheimnis preis. Er sei der Physiker Johann Wilhelm Ritter, geboren 1776. Starker Tobak für eine Naturwissenschaftlerin von heute. Um seiner vermeintlichen Unsterblichkeit auf die Spur zu kommen, lässt sie seine DNA sequenzieren. Als Johannas Kollegen misstrauisch werden, bleibt dem sonderbaren Paar nur eines: die Flucht, dorthin, wo das Streben nach wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnis und schwarze Romantik sich schon immer gerne ein Stelldichein geben - nach Deutschland.

    In ihrem ersten Roman seit "Die deutsche Seele" nimmt Thea Dorn uns mit in die Extreme moderner Biomedizin und zieht uns zugleich in die Untiefen einer romantischen Seele. "Die Unglückseligen" ist ein großes Lese- und Erkenntnisvergnügen, in dem sich die lange Tradition des Fauststoffes zeitgemäß spiegelt.]

    Empreende-se aqui uma leitura de Viagem à Itália, de Goethe, menos como uma obra autobiográfica do que como uma das muitas narrativas enciclopédicas do autor, em que relatos de diferentes dicções e propósitos são reunidos sob motivos e sugestões comuns. Aqui, busca-se identificar esse fio condutor sob a percepção goethiana das formas. Sob o termo, entendemos tanto as formas naturais quanto artísticas, assim como os objetos e ritos da religião católica, trazidas pela experiência italiana. Goethe's Journey to Italy is here understood less as an autobiography than as an encyclopedic work of art. Here we can see many different speeches and goals reunited under common suggestions and themes, without a clear articulating line. This article intends to identify Goethe's reception of natural and artistic forms during his stay in Italy as a possible guideline for this work.

    A narrativa "Zum wilden Mann" (1874) de Wilhelm Raabe apresenta a história de uma farmácia na província alemã e do seu dono, observando os princípios estilísticos do realismo poético, a tendência literária dominante na segunda metade do século 19 nos países de língua alemã. A despeito da localização no mundo contemporâneo de Raabe e seus leitores, a trama e os protagonistas apresentam traços que remetem à esfera fantástica de pactos demoníacos e homens selvagens. Esses elementos interferem com a esfera realista das relações econômicas entre os protagonistas, baseadas- em empréstimos, juros e o comércio globalizado, e aludem aos aspectos inumanos dos negócios modernos. Divergente da prática cultural geral, Raabe atribui o "selvagem" e o "diabólico" às "conquistas" recentes da civilização que emergem de forma similar na Alemanha e nas antigas colônias. O Brasil traçado pela narrativa, em vez de ser um ambiente exótico, é apenas um outro cenário dos processos industriais e comerciais. The narrative "Zum wilden Mann" (1874) by Wilhelm Raabe presents the story of a pharmacy in provincial Germany and its owner; Raabe's story obeys the stylistic principles of Poetic Realism, the literary current that dominated the second half of the 19th century in German speaking countries. Despite being located in contemporary reality of the author and his readers, the plot and its main characters show features that refer to the fantastic realm of demonic pacts and wild men. These elements interfere with the realist economic relations between the protagonists, based on loans, interests, and globalized commerce and allude to the inhuman aspects of modern business. Divergent from main cultural practice, Raabe attributes the "savage" and the "diabolic" to the recent "achievements" of civilization which emerge likewise in Germany and in former colonies. The Brazil described by the narrative, instead of being an exotic setting, is just another stage of industrial and commercial processes.

    Die Zeitschrift Pandaemonium Germanicum erscheint zweimal jährlich und versteht sich als Forum für die wissenschaftliche Diskussion in den verschiedenen Bereichen der internationalen Germanistik, nämlich der Literatur- und Übersetzungswissenschaft, Linguistik, DaF und Kulturstudien. Die Zeitschrift wird von der deutschen Abteilung der FFLCH-USP (Universität São Paulo) seit 1997 herausgegeben und will zur Verbreitung unveröffentlichter Forschungen von GermanistInnen aus Brasilien und anderen Ländern, sowie zur Förderung des Dialogs zwischen der Germanistik und anderen Wissensbereichen beitragen.
