    Modernism;Ethics;Semiotics Inter-lektualitet. Læsningens semiotik og etik kombinerer Mikhail Bakhtins dialogismeteorier med Roland Barthes’ dynamiske læsnings-teorier. Disse samler sig om formbegreber og et syn på det litterære fænomen, der dels medgiver litteraturen dens medfødte flertydighed, dels er i stand til at opfange tekstens særlige æstetiske udtryk og måde at kommunikere på gennem hver enkelt læsnings naturlige forsøg på at forbinde det læste med læserens eget liv og hverdag. Inter-lektuel semiotik er en tegnfølsom tekstualitetsoptik, der hviler på den opfattelse, at der ved læsningen af en litterær tekst etableres et kom-plekst rum af dialogiske forbindelser mellem en læserinstans og skribent-instans, som gør dem i stand til at kommunikere med hinanden. Til den dobbelthed, der altid må være forbundet med det at skrive litteratur, nemlig det at spørge under dække af at påstå, svarer den dobbelthed, der er forbundet med det at læse eller analysere litteratur, nemlig det at svare under dække af at spørge. Det er som et sådant gensvar eller an-svar, at Inter-lektualitet. Læsningens semiotik og etik forstår karakteren af den kreative, dialogiske og etiske læsning af litteratur.

     

    Bogen indeholder en række læsningsbaserede analyser af litterære tekster af forfatterne Virginia Woolf og Samuel Beckett samt analyser af andre tegntætte, kulturelle performativiteter fra vores kropslige hverdag.

     

    Hermed skitseres en egentlig krops-semiotik og en narrativ terapi på baggrund af det overordnede inter-lektualitetsbegreb.

    Twenty years ago, in the pages of the Journal of Common Market Studies, Hedley Bull launched a searing critique of the European Community's 'civilian power' in international affairs. Since that time the increasing role of the European Union (EU) in areas of security and defence policy has led to a seductiveness in adopting the notion of 'military power Europe'. In contrast, I will attempt to argue that by thinking beyond traditional conceptions of the EU's international role and examining the case study of its international pursuit of the abolition of the death penalty, we may best conceive of the EU as a 'normative power Europe'.

    The war in Caucasus from 7 to 12 August 2008 gave rise to forceful international reactions and made commentators talk about the possibility of a new 'Cold War' between Russia and the West and the 'return of history' (the fall of the Berlin Wall allegedly being the 'end of history'). At the time of writing, the pessimistic scenario seems not very likely; however, it is still energetically disputed between Russia and Georgia, who should be blamed for the initiation of war events. In this DIIS Working Paper, we seek to clarify this question along with the more complex historical backgrounds of events. the decision-making processes in Tbilisi and Moscow are analysed, and the Western diversified reactions to the conflict are described and explained. Finally, a status is made one year after the war.
