    The circumstances, deficiencies, and even differences that come to find in “critical” editions of Los heraldos negros (LHN), will be subjects of discussion. Today, the “critical” editions have been focused on variants that have passed down from book to book; but among them are many apocryphal amendments which have their origin in ultracorrrection readings. This note introduces the reader to the project for the creation of a critical edition that emphasizes LHN as codice optimus, but also try to focus in aspects, issues and criticisms that have been generated around Vallejo’s work En las siguientes páginas se comentarán las circunstancias, deficiencias e incluso diferencias que se llegan a encontrar en las ediciones “críticas” que existen de Los heraldos negros (LHN). A la fecha, las ediciones “críticas” se han enfocado en variantes que han pasado de libro en libro, pero entre ellas se encuentran múltiples enmiendas apócrifas que tienen su origen en lecturas ultracorrrectoras. La nota, de este modo, introduce al lector al proyecto de generar una edición crítica que privilegie LHN como codice optimus, pero también tome en cuenta todos los aspectos, ediciones y críticas que se han generado en torno a la obra vallejiana
