    Julián Herbert’s Canción de tumba (2011), a collection of more or less linear narratives about the death of the author/narrator’s mother, presents many of the characteristics of what Josefina Ludmer would call "postautonomous literatures": postautonomy, according to Ludmer, implies the end of the literary institution as we know it and demands the arrival of a new, external paradigm of reading that allows for a more extensive understanding of such texts. However, it is difficult to ignore that the narrative technique in Canción de tumba, as well as its author/narrator/protagonist's awareness of it, represent one of its fundamental poetological bases. The most evident example of this phenomenon is the handling of intertextual references in the work, especially concerning 19th centruy literary poetics such as Symbolism and Decadentism. The use of quotations, paraphrases (serious or parodic), as well as references to other authors and literatures are frequently shown as invitations to discover the aesthetic and poetological foundations of the novel. By performing an analysis of some of these references, the purpose of this article is to explore to which extent a more complete understanding of what is considered postautonomous writing can be achieved by using methods that Ludmer would consider to be "obsolete" for this type of contemporary literature. ; La novela Canción de tumba (2011), una colección de narrativas más o menos lineares en torno a la muerte de la madre de su autor y narrador Julián Herbert presenta muchas de las características de lo que Josefina Ludmer denominaría “literaturas postautónomas”: la postautonomía, según Ludmer, implica el fin de la institución literaria como se le conoce y exige la llegada de un nuevo paradigma de lectura externo a la misma, que permita una comprensión más extensa de estos textos. Sin embargo, resulta difícil ignorar que la técnica narrativa de Canción de tumba, así como la conciencia de su autor sobre esta misma, representan una de sus bases poetológicas fundamentales. El ejemplo más evidente de este fenómeno es el manejo de referencias intertextuales en la obra, especialmente respecto a las tradiciones literarias del malditismo y el decadentismo. La disposición de citas, paráfrasis (serias o paródicas), así como de menciones a otros autores y literaturas se muestran frecuentemente como invitaciones a descubrir los fundamentos estéticos y poetológicos de la novela. El propósito de este artículo es explorar, realizando un análisis de algunas estas referencias (método característico de la “obsoleta” episteme literaria), hasta qué punto se puede lograr un entendimiento más completo de una escritura que se considera postautónoma.

    In this article we intend to reflect on the processes of identity construction that unfold around Argentinian fandom of Japanese mass culture, conceptualized in terms of otakism (Álvarez Gandolfi 2016). To do this, we will analyse how fans of content such as anime, (self)identified as «otaku», give meaning to the experiences linked to their consumption practices, noticing the tensions in the constitution of the national identities of these subjects crossed by transnational objects, between meanings that they assign to «the Argentine» and «the Japanese». All of this in a current context of growing access and global circulation of cross-cultural productions, hand in hand with digitization and the consolidation of participatory culture in an interconnected era (Jenkins et al. 2016), within which we will base ourselves on our own empirical research (Álvarez Gandolfi 2014; Del Vigo & Carpenzano 2014) consisting of the application of qualitative interview techniques with these fans and an ethnographic fieldwork on the main digital platforms through which they interact. On the one hand, we argue that the aforementioned tensions would be resolved through otaku prosums that imply a sex-affective socialization and a syncretic identity bricolage both dislocated and potentially resistant within the framework of waifuism (Del Vigo 2018). On the other hand, we argue that in order to understand the tensions that go through the processes of identity construction based on otakism, the dynamics of fragmentation within the fandom nor the asymmetric ways in which the fans in question signify their favourite contents in their nostalgic biographic narratives cannot be forgotten. Here we will contrast such proposals and arguments in a dialogical way, displaying a conceptual journey that is indebted to cultural studies and fans studies, and currents such as postmodernism and its problematizations, in order to consolidate possible bases to continue studying this increasingly visible and important phenomenon in our contemporary societies. ; En el presente artículo nos proponemos reflexionar sobre los procesos de construcción identitaria que se despliegan en torno del fanatismo en la Argentina por objetos de la cultura de masas japonesa, conceptualizado en términos de otakismo (Álvarez Gandolfi 2016). Para ello, analizaremos cómo los fans de contenidos como el animé, (auto)identificados como «otakus», dan sentido a las experiencias vinculadas con sus prácticas de consumo, advirtiendo las tensiones en la constitución de las identidades nacionales de estos sujetos atravesadas por contenidos transnacionales, entre significaciones que adjudican a «lo argentino» y a «lo japonés». Ello en un contexto actual de creciente acceso y circulación global de producciones transculturales, de la mano de la digitalización y la consolidación de la cultura participativa en una era interconectada (Jenkins et al. 2016), dentro del cual nos basaremos en investigaciones empíricas propias (Álvarez Gandolfi 2014; Del Vigo y Carpenzano 2014) consistentes en la aplicación de técnicas cualitativas de entrevista con estos fans y en un relevamiento etnográfico de las principales plataformas digitales en las que interactúan. Por un lado, se plantea que las mencionadas tensiones serían resueltas mediante los prosumos otaku que implican una socialización sexoafectiva y un bricolaje identitario sincrético tanto dislocado como potencialmente resistente en el marco del waifuismo (Del Vigo 2018). Por otro lado, se argumenta que para comprender dichas tensiones que atraviesan los procesos de construcción de identidades a partir del otakismo no pueden olvidarse las dinámicas de fragmentación en el interior del fandom ni las maneras asimétricas en que los fans en cuestión las significan en sus narrativas biográficas nostálgicas. Aquí contrastaremos tales planteos y argumentaciones de modo dialógico, desplegando un recorrido conceptual deudor de los estudios culturales y los estudios sobre fans, y de corrientes como el posmodernismo y sus problematizaciones, en pos de consolidar bases posibles para seguir estudiando este fenómeno cada vez más visible e importante en las sociedades contemporáneas.

    La bruja ocupa una posición destacada entre las figuras históricamente marginadas. Como representante de creencias heterodoxas, es perseguida por la Iglesia Católica sin piedad y, debido a su comportamiento a menudo desviado como, por ejemplo, a sus conocimientos ‘extraordinarios’, es excluida de la sociedad por la masa (rural). Centrándose en el contexto moderno temprano, por un lado, y, por otro lado, en la serie televisiva contemporánea El ministerio del tiempo, este artículo revela que el estatus marginal de las mujeres acusadas de brujería fue el resultado de una construcción social. El análisis de las fuentes históricas, así como del episodio “Tiempo de hechizos” demuestran cómo habitualmente se generan y se utilizan los rumores. Además, se atiende a la complejidad de la imagen de la bruja, que – como presenta claramente el episodio – puede desempeñar ambos papeles en disputa de interpretación: el de la víctima y el de la delincuente. ; Among the historical outsider figures, the witch occupies a prominent position. As a representative of heterodox beliefs, she is persecuted by the Catholic Church without any mercy and, due to her often deviant behavior – for example her extraordinary knowledge – she is excluded from society by the mass of the rural population. The article reveals the outsider status of women accused of being witches as a social construct, taking into account the early modern context on the one hand and a modern TV series, El ministerio del tiempo, on the other. The analysis of historical sources and the episode “Tiempo de hechizos” shows how rumors are created and used. In addition, the complexity of the witch’s image is taken into account: As the episode makes clear, the witch can fulfill both roles in the dispute of interpretation: that of the victim and that of the offender. ; La bruja ocupa una posición destacada entre las figuras históricamente marginadas.     What ecopoetics is and what it does, how it relates to but also exceeds ecopoetry, and the nature of its relationship to the more general poiesis (?making”) at work in the material universe remain open and thorny questions. Moreover, what are the insights from the more specialised field of experimental ecopoetry that we may bring to our understanding of ecopoetics in general, whatever the genre and material support on which environmentally-inflected poiesis deploys itself? As this Special Focus section shows, one may begin to answer such questions by taking into account notions of randomness and design, concepts that operate in experimental texts and the material universe at large, but which have not been sufficiently foregrounded in the ongoing theoretical debate on ecopoetics. Any sustained effort to understand how randomness and design permeate ecopoetics requires a vision of ecopoetics that goes beyond (eco)poetry. Providing some examples of what such a broader vision of ecopoetics might look like is also one of the goals of this Special Focus. Unfolding in three stages, this introductory essay will first map out the elements and orientations that inform the debates on ecopoetics, while also touching upon the adjacent territories of geopoetics, zoopoetics, écopoétique and Ökopoetik. A second part will meditate on the elusive concepts of randomness and design, and on how ecopoetics might be considered a form of adaptive mapping of their ever-fluid entanglement. The third part, finally, presents the contributions to this Special Focus section and surveys the different facets of the co-constitutive operations of randomness and design explored in each.

    This paper is structured as a dialogue with a variety of texts. Through an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach, it will examine possible ways in which bodies are classified and framed -that is, constructed- as abnormal, deviant, and/or infirm, and their connection with categories such as exile, torture, and laceration. The intention is to rethink the meaning of the body and corporealities both as a space shaped by power and resistance. To think of these bodies, which appear to be defeated, as a space of firmness, obstinacy, rebellion, and resistance. The objective is to examine these constructions in order to generate new ways of thinking, looking, and feeling with and about the body in the reflective, creative, and meaning-making processes. As well as, on the basis of this research, to question the field of humanities and its methods of work. A genealogical methodology will be used to detect certain relevant points or events. Therefore, the aim here is not to draw a chronological line of events and reach a predefined objective, but to highlight (and reveal) moments, which are presented as an articulation of elements and which contain the capacity to provoke changes, reflections, and new researches.     The essay analyzes the political-poetic vision of Latin America formulated in the literary, autobiographical, and essayist works of the black U.S.-American writer Langston Hughes. Hughes was not only one of the most outstanding and prolific artists of the Harlem Renaissance but also the one most interested Latin America and most closely engaging with Latin American artists, intellectuals, and “ordinary” people. He lived in Mexico for some time, paid several visits to Cuba, and wrote about these experiences in his two volumes of autobiography as well as in various poems and essays. Focusing in particular on his encounters with the black and indigenous populations of the two countries, these texts articulate a vision of an Afro-diasporic and leftist political consciousness. Latin America emerges here as a “continent of color,” a hemisphere especially shaped by the experiences of peoples of non-European descent. Hughes’s engagement with the black and indigenous cultures of Latin America further forms part of the writer’s larger vision of a global “world of color” that he sets against the hegemony of European and Euro-American thought.

    La lengua escrita canónica no es suficiente para nombrar lo escuchado, percibido y sentido por quienes habitan en las comunidades ancestrales, ya sean mestizas, indígenas o africanas. Las poéticas de la transculturación alcanzan su mayor desarrollo en las novelas de las décadas de 1950 a 1970. La escritura, mediada por la oralidad y la tradición popular, es identificada por Ángel Rama como la propia de la transculturación cuyas obras emblemáticas son las de escritores como Rulfo, Arguedas, Guimaraes Rosa, Roa Bastos y García Márquez. El planteamiento de Ángel Rama es reivindicado por Carlos Pacheco y Francoise Perus. Identificar los rasgos de la transculturación para desentrañar las cosmovisiones sobre América Latina, subyacentes en los monodiálogos, es el horizonte de estas reflexiones; ello implica explicar la manera como la escritura literaria reconfigura la fuerza de la oralidad y las cosmovisiones de las comunidades periféricas: no sentimos que leemos sino que escuchamos, como se ilustrará aquí con la obra de Juan Rulfo. ; The canonic western written word is insufficient to name what and how ancestral communities (be them Mestizo, Indigenous or Africans) experience, hear, feel and sense the world they inhabit. In the case of Latin America, transculturated poetics come to their major growth in the novels written between 1950 and 1970. Angel Rama identifies as a key characteristic of transculturation the written texts mediated by oralities and popular cultures. For him, exemplary of this type of writing are authors such as Rulfo, Arguedas, Guimaraes Rosa, Roa Bastos and García Márquez. Rama’s proposition is supported by Carlos Pacheco and Francoise Perus.     Der Artikel untersucht die Disproportion der Analytik des Erhabenen im Rahmen der Kritik der Urteilskraft, die analog für das nicht Versöhnbare in Theorie und moralischer Praxis / Natur und Vernunft steht und damit die Brüche zwischen der ersten und zweiten Kritik erneut markiert, die von der dritten Kritik gerade vermittelt werden sollten: Das Erhabene entspricht der verschleierten Gewalt in den gesellschaftlichen Prozessen. Kants Position wird vor dem Hintergrund von Shaftesbury und Burke herausgearbeitet und dabei der Akzent auf die Orientierung des Königsbergers an ahistorischen Vernunftideen gelegt. Sein Begriff des Erhabenen (ebenso wie seine Ethik) steht damit in der Tradition der protestantischen wie der bürgerlich- kapitalistischen Askese. Für den Betrachter der sublimen Natur und Kunst wie für den, welcher den moralischen Imperativ befolgt, gilt gleichermaßen die Zurückstellung des Materiellen und der direkten Trieberfüllung zugunsten einer höheren, geistigen Befriedigung. Entsprechend findet die Form- und Maßlosigkeit des Sublimen ihre Parallele in der "schlechten Unendlichkeit" des Kapitals und der technologischen "zweiten Natur". This paper investigates the disproportion of the Analytics of the Sublime in context of the Critique of Judgement, as an analogy to the impossibility of reconciling moral theory and practice, nature and reason; thus the bridge between the first and the second critiques, which should be mediated by the third, is marked anew: the sublime corresponds to the violence masked within social processes. Kant’s position is worked out upon the background of Shaftesbury and Burke and thus emerges the fact that the Königsberg philosopher is oriented towards ahistorical rational ideas. His concept of the sublime (as well as his ethics) is therefore situated in the traditions of protestant ascetism and bourgeois-capitalism. Both the beholder of sublime nature and art and the follower of moral imperative must equally relinquish everything material and the direct satisfaction of their yearnings in favour of a higher, intellectual satisfaction. In the same way, the absence of form or measure of the sublime has its parallel in the “negative infinity” of capital and in technological “second nature”.

    Este artículo explora la relación entre la experiencia viajera femenina y el género epistolar mediante una lectura de Cartas a Ricardo, de Rosario Castellanos como relato de viajes. El objetivo es analizar la naturaleza híbrida de la carta como género que permite ensayar ideas y confesar o revelar afectos durante procesos particulares de construcción de subjetividades femeninas. A diferencia de las crónicas de viajes tradicionales, se argumenta que los relatos de viaje transmitidos a través del género epistolar femenino dan cuenta del desplazamiento físico y emocional, pero también del trabajo intelectual y creativo de las mujeres en circunstancias de (auto)censura o represión. Se concluye que para Castellanos tanto el viaje como la escritura son actos conscientes de libertad intelectual y de género. ; This paper reflects on the relationship between the female traveling experience and the epistolary genre through a reading of Rosario Castellanos’s Cartas a Ricardo as travel literature. The aim is to analyse the hybrid nature of the letter as a genre that allows the exploration of ideas and confessing or revealing affects during particular processes of constructing female subjectivities. Different than conventional travel chronicles, it is argued that the travel accounts transmitted through the female epistolary genre can throw light on physical and emotional displacement, but also on the intellectual and creative work of women in (self)censored or repressed environments. It is concluded that for Castellanos both traveling and writing are conscious acts of intellectual and gender freedom.
