    Abstract: In this paper I try to show the value that the study of the relationship between Social Psychology & Literature would have to improve our psychosocial knowledge of the human being. On one hand, the psychosocial analysis of the novel would provide us with the wide & deep knowledge that is contained in the classic literary works. On the other hand, it is also useful to analyze how these literary works have been reflecting both their own time as well as the social changes in the last centuries and, furthermore, its effect on the readers, their mentality, their behaviour & even the way they relate each other. This approach would be of great value for a Social Psychology that pretends to look beyond a positivist perspective, a perspective that is pervasive in Psychology for the last century

    En este estudio se dará a conocer una fase natural de la vida; la muerte, siendo ésta un hecho natural del ciclo del ser humano nace, crece, se reproduce y muere. Sin embargo, en países como Guatemala se incrementa el número de muertes por el alto índice de violencia que se vive en el país. Cuando un hecho como la muerte de un ser querido o cercano afecta directamente a un persona, por lo general se hace complejo el proceso de aceptar y asimilar la pérdida. Durante el proceso que se conoce como duelo, las personas experimentan la mezcla de varios sentimientos y pensamientos que se transforman en confusión y frustración. Este proceso ayuda a entender, recuperar, superar y aceptar la muerte y como consecuencia la forma de ver la vida. Para determinar ¡Cuáles son los mecanismos persuasivos que se utilizan en el taller “Honrar la Vida” para influir en los asistentes? Se realizó una investigación bibliográfica y documental en las bibliotecas de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala y medios electrónicos. Después de efectuar el análisis del discurso “Honrara la Vida” impartido por el Dr. José Javier Blanco, utilizando la propuesta del profesor Teun Van Dijk, se determinó que el Dr. Blanco logra cambios de pensamientos al dar dicho taller, ayudado de recursos audiovisuales y ambientación para sensibilizar y lograr así incidir en cada uno de los asistentes
