    Zusammenfassung: Involuntarily John Selbing became Orrefors' own photographer. He was taken on as a draughtsman by Simon Gate in 1927, with the aim of becoming a glass designer. But early in the 1930s Orrefors ran into financial difficulties and Selbing was asked whether he could become the company photographer. They could no longer afford to use external photographers. Afraid of losing his job Selbing accepted the offer.00As a photographer he had an artistic approach and artistic ambitions. The management recognized this and gave him a great deal of independence in his work. He experimented both playfully and seriously, in and beyond the studio looking for suitable backdrops in nature and in the factory, as well as trying out new lighting techniques. Selbing is the most interesting photographer of glass in Sweden and he was operative at a time when Orrefors was expanding, in due course becoming a world-famous company.00In 1973, after 46 years at Orrefors, he left the company, taking nothing with him. His studio remained unaltered for many years and he left behind him a large archive that contained an unknown quantity of negatives.     Zusammenfassung: More than 100 photographs of vandalized car wrecks pass through in Björn Larsson?s new book with the subtitle ?Joyrides, Car Fires and Places of Slaughter?. Abandoned, they stand in the middle of the city or on solitary country roads, handed over to spare parts pickers and as relics of an industrial era in transformation. The pictures are the result of Björn Larsson having the Egyptian hand colorist Maha Kamel freely read and color his black and white photographs. The result is special. The title of the book is also a truth with modification. The pictures are taken 1999-2016 but in the book presented seasonally.00A separate folded poster, 660 x 940 mm, showing all the b/w images before they were hand-coloured, comes with the book

    Vad heter det nu igen? är den försåtliga fråga som hela tiden mal i översättarens huvud. Naturligtvis är den ofrånkomlig ? det ska ju nämligen bli svenska av alltihop, detta övergripande mål som aldrig får glömmas bort. Men vilken sorts svenska? Hur idiomatisk och lättflytande? Språket består inte av ord utan av fraser, har någon klok människa sagt.? Så skriver Kerstin Gustafsson i en av de texter om översättandets glädjeämnen och utmaningar som finns samlade i denna bok. Därmed sätter hon mjukt men bestämt fingret på allt det som översättaren måste beakta vid sidan om den elementära riktigheten. En översatt text ska ju helst ha ett tonfall, ett egensinne och en uppfinningsrikedom som svarar mot originalets. Och dessutom vara en levande text i sin egen rätt som förvaltar och förnyar det mottagande språkets litterära resurser. Den lexikaliskt korrekta översättningen av ett ord behöver inte nödvändigtvis vara rätt i praktiken. De inblickar i översättararbetet som Gustafsson och hennes kolleger Anders Bodegård, Janina Orlov och Jan Stolpe presenterar, visar bland annat hur verksamhetens båda centrala aspekter, den hantverksmässiga och den konstnärliga, förutsätter varandra. Risken att misslyckas finns ju alltid, men hör till. Utan risker inget liv. ?Översättning? skulle kunna översättas med ?äventyr?. Texterna har tidigare publicerats i "Språktidningen"
