Seit acht Jahren gibt es in Madrid die Kinoschule für Kinder und Jugendliche, "Orson the Kid", in der bereits 26 Kurzfilme und zwei Spielfilme gedreht wurden. Kinder und Jugendliche wachsen mit Fernsehfilmen und Kino auf, aber es gibt kaum Möglichkeiten für sie, hinter die Kulissen zu schauen oder ihre Filme selbst zu gestalten. Das können sie in "Orson the Kid". Orson Welles hatte sein Meisterwerk "Citizan Kane" mit nur 25 Jahren gedreht - daher der Name der Schule. Film ist eine Gruppenarbeit und fördert die sozialen Qualitäten. Die Zusammenarbeit verschiedener Generationen und Nationen gehört zum "Orson the Kid". Jugendliche aus insgesamt 12 Ländern gingen durch die Schule, die sich über Sponsoren und die Kursgebühren finanziert. Bei uns wird "Orson the Kid" den Langspielfilm "This is me" zeigen. (Schweizer Jugendfilmtage, 2010) A feature film written, designed, interpreted, directed and edited by 100 children and adolescents from Europe, Latin and North America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. An original project conceived, developed, produced and directed by the film school for children and youth ORSON the KID. THIS IS ME, will be a feature film shot around the world, denouncing the non-respect of children's rights, as approved by the United Nations. The film will be a collection of 6 stories representing the lack of human rights for children on each continent. It will not be a documentary, nor a docu-drama, nor a reality show; it will be a fiction describing life through the protagonist's stories. Orson the Kid has years of experience in cine-literacy and audiovisual education for children and adolescents. Created seven years ago, this unique school welcomed over 700 students of 12 different nationalities; over that period, 30 short films and 2 feature films were produced thanks to 40 collaborators and major international sponsors.
