    Realismus des Kapitals zeigt die Aktualität marxistischer Literaturtheorie im Zeitalter der Globalisierung. Anhand von Gegenwartsliteratur und Populärkultur legt diese Untersuchung, die Literaturwissenschaft mit sozialwissenschaftlichen, ökonomiekritischen und psychoanalytischen Ansätzen verbindet, dar, dass Kultur in der Gegenwart in die kapitalistische Produktion integriert ist. Dabei vollzieht Schuller die historische Genese dieses Zustands und den Zusammenhang von Avantgardebewegungen, 1968 und dem Neoliberalismus nach und arbeitet kritisch die Geschichte marxistischer Literaturtheorie auf. Sein Projekt gründet auf den theoretischen Schriften Brechts, bezieht aber auch aktuelle Theoriedebatten, etwa um Mark Fishers Konzept des kapitalistischen Realismus, mit ein. Damit stellt Schuller der aktuellen Theoriemüdigkeit der Geisteswissenschaften einen neuen Begriff von Kultur als Moment des globalisierten Kapitalismus entgegen

    This book introduces and explores Rational Poetic Experimentalism (RPE). According to RPE, it makes sense to regard reason as poetic. Regarding reason this way is the result of experimenting with philosophical ideas. Such experimentation might lead to philosophical truths which might seem very difficult to discover This book makes the attempt to wed reason and the poetic. The tool for this attempt is Rational Poetic Experimentalism (RPE), which is introduced and explored in this book. According to RPE, it makes sense to look for poetic elements in human reality (including reason), outside of the realm of imaginative literature. Provocatively, RPE contends that philosophy’s search for truth has not been a great success so far. So, why not experiment with philosophical concepts and look for thought-provoking ideas by employing the principles of RPE, instead of fruitlessly searching for truths using conventional methods?

The study presents the kaleidoscopic cross section of renditions into as many as thirteen languages, making it a pioneering elaboration of a macrocosm of the afterlife of a translated novel and a tour de force of comparative translation studies. The dark contents of the work, heavily loaded with political and moral issues, vulnerable to shifts and refractions in the process of translation, have been analysed, unaffected by ideological sway, debunking any persistent myths about Kosinski’s harrowing work

    "English summary: Cohabiter l'espace postcolonial focuses on the importance of ecological issues in African fiction. The book highlights the complex and diverse strategies deployed in French speaking Africa to incorporate environmental subjects in literary productions. Using ecocriticism, postcolonial and posthumanist theories to analyse a wide variety of novels, it brings to the fore, through the diversity of the issues it addresses, some contextual inflections of the relationship between the human and the non-human. From its discussion of animal otherness, cultural significance of plants, environmental racism, environmental justice, the fragility of the rural world and the survival in urban environments, the book demonstrates how ecological issues translate into socio-cultural and political challenges for local communities in Africa.     Realismus des Kapitals zeigt die Aktualität marxistischer Literaturtheorie im Zeitalter der Globalisierung. Anhand von Gegenwartsliteratur und Populärkultur legt diese Untersuchung, die Literaturwissenschaft mit sozialwissenschaftlichen, ökonomiekritischen und psychoanalytischen Ansätzen verbindet, dar, dass Kultur in der Gegenwart in die kapitalistische Produktion integriert ist. Dabei vollzieht Schuller die historische Genese dieses Zustands und den Zusammenhang von Avantgardebewegungen, 1968 und dem Neoliberalismus nach und arbeitet kritisch die Geschichte marxistischer Literaturtheorie auf. Sein Projekt gründet auf den theoretischen Schriften Brechts, bezieht aber auch aktuelle Theoriedebatten, etwa um Mark Fishers Konzept des kapitalistischen Realismus, mit ein. Damit stellt Schuller der aktuellen Theoriemüdigkeit der Geisteswissenschaften einen neuen Begriff von Kultur als Moment des globalisierten Kapitalismus entgegen

    This book introduces and explores Rational Poetic Experimentalism (RPE). According to RPE, it makes sense to regard reason as poetic. Regarding reason this way is the result of experimenting with philosophical ideas. Such experimentation might lead to philosophical truths which might seem very difficult to discover This book makes the attempt to wed reason and the poetic. The tool for this attempt is Rational Poetic Experimentalism (RPE), which is introduced and explored in this book. According to RPE, it makes sense to look for poetic elements in human reality (including reason), outside of the realm of imaginative literature. Provocatively, RPE contends that philosophy’s search for truth has not been a great success so far. So, why not experiment with philosophical concepts and look for thought-provoking ideas by employing the principles of RPE, instead of fruitlessly searching for truths using conventional methods?

The study presents the kaleidoscopic cross section of renditions into as many as thirteen languages, making it a pioneering elaboration of a macrocosm of the afterlife of a translated novel and a tour de force of comparative translation studies.
