    Abstract: Poststrukturalistische sowie postmoderne Sprachphilosophie hat vielleicht die Zeit, da sie in aller Munde war, schon wieder hinter sich. Gleichwohl verankert sich gegenwärtig unter ihrem Einfluss ein Konsens darüber, dass sprachliche Zeichengefüge nicht eine ihnen vorgängige Wirklichkeit abbilden, sondern dass das, was als wahr und wirklich bezeichnet wird, ein Ergebnis sprachlicher Kommunikation darstellt. In unserer Disziplin ist dies eine Einsicht, die sich seit etwa eineinhalb Jahrzehnten insbesondere der Soziale Konstruktionismus (Gergen 1985) und die Kulturpsychologie (Bruner 1986, 1990) zu eigen gemacht haben. Sie treffen sich im Konzept eines narrativen Konstruktionismus (Gergen & Gergen 1988). Dessen zentrale These lautet: Wir stellen uns selbst und unsere Welt her, indem wir Geschichten ("narratives") erzählen, wiedererzählen und umerzählen. Ein Einwand scheint auf der Hand zu liegen: Wie kommen wir dazu, wenn uns nicht (außersprachliche) Wirklichkeit dazu anhält? Lautete

    Abstract: Die von John J. Gumperz ins Leben gerufene Interaktionale Soziolinguistik ist in der Soziologie bislang ebensowenig rezipiert worden wie ihre Vorläuferin, die Ethnographie der Kommunikation. Deshalb soll gezeigt werden, wie die Untersuchung interkultureller Kommunikation zur entscheidenden Neubestimmung von Konzepten wie Sprachgemeinschaft, Kodewechsel und Diglossie führt; überdies liefert sie - im Sinne einer Hermeneutik des Mißverständnisses - einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Aufdeckung allgemeiner Strukturen der Kommunikation. Kommunikatives Handeln wird dabei als ein Prozeß der Kontextualisierung verstanden. Verbale und nonverbale Kontextualisierungsschlüssel erlauben den Handelnden, auf Intentionen und Situationen zu schließen. Kommunikatives Handeln wird dabei weniger von sprachlichen Mitteln als von interaktiv etablierten Schemata getragen, die als Konventionen sozialer Netzwerke anzusehen sind.     Abstract: Anhand uneindeutiger literarischer Texte wird demonstriert, wie jeweilige Wirklichkeiten bzw. Wahrheiten hergestellt werden: durch die Zuordnung einer Narration zu einem Genre, durch Konvention oder durch Regeln des Diskurses. Eine Diskussion des Genrebegriffs weist dessen Schwäche für ein Verständnis psychologisch relevanter Erzählungen auf. Besser tauglich scheint Wittgensteins Regelbegriff, von dem eine Brücke gefunden werden kann zu Foucaults Konzept des regelgeleiteten Diskurses, mit dem das Wirken heteronomer Macht in narrativen Konstruktionen deutlich werden kann

    Abstract: "This introduction and the contributions of the HSR issue intend to develop and to demonstrate the potentialities of the economics of convention (EC) for a transdisciplinary approach to the history of economies. 'Convention' has become a core concept in the renewal of French social sciences from structuralism towards pragmatism. Conventions are interpretative schemes for action and coordination that persons and actors use in situations under conditions of uncertainty. Through repeated interaction they become an intimate part of the history, incorporated into justifications, behaviours and social objects like institutions. In contrast to neoclassic economics and to new historical institutionalism, the EC starts from assumptions of a plurality of economic frameworks of action, of the socio-historical construction of concepts, categories, and data. It rejects dichotomies, adopts a broad conception of the economy, conceives institutional change as the change of the 'conventional' found

    Abstract: "The article presents the methodological position of the French approach of the 'économie des conventions' (economics of convention, in short: EC). EC is introduced as a new form of a pragmatist institutionalism, which assumes capable actors, a plurality of conventions and different forms of rationality. EC explains collective quality constructions and regards conventions as solutions for collectives to deal with uncertainty. EC criticizes mainstream economics because of its notion of rationality and its methodological individualism. The article focuses on the methodological standpoint of EC. It is argued that the influences from pragmatism and structuralism place this new institutionalism beyond pragmatism and structuralism and that its methodological position can be regarded as a 'complex pragmatic situationalism'.     Abstract: The contribution examines concepts and the methodology of Michel Foucault from the standpoint of the French institutionalist approach of economics of convention (in short EC). EC is briefly introduced. Then, it is argued that Foucault should be regarded as an “ally” for EC, because his theory shares main positions with EC, but Foucault also provides concepts and methodological strategies, which could improve EC’s capabilities to analyze practices and strategies of convention-based processes as critique, justification and the social construction of qualities and worth. Some representatives of EC have already adopted Foucaultian concepts. Foucault also pioneered the analysis in domains, highly relevant for EC, as in the field of law and neoliberalism, but these works are not well recognized so far.
