    Die Studie entwickelt eine medienbiografische Perspektive auf Smartphone-Fotopraktiken in der Adoleszenz. Sie fragt nach ihrer Relevanz für Biografiearbeit als Teil der Identitätsentwicklung und beleuchtet Praktiken vor dem Hintergrund medienbiografischer Erfahrungen. Biografizität und visuelle Kompetenz werden als Bildungsziele der Medienpädagogik reflektiert. Anhand der dokumentarischen Methode wurden hierzu Interviews und Fotografien der interviewten Jugendlichen interpretiert, wobei die Kommunikationskontexte sozialer Medien systematisch einbezogen wurden. Hieraus ging die Typologie ‚visuelle Biografiearbeit‘ hervor, die milieuspezifisch unterschiedliche Formen fotografiebezogener Kommunikations- und Biografisierungsprozesse offenlegt. This study develops a media biographical perspective on adolescents’ use of smartphones for photography. It investigates smartphones’ relevance in biographical work as part of identity development and examines their use against the background of media biographical experiences, while also reflecting on biographicality and visual literacy as goals of media pedagogy. Using the documentary method, the author interprets interviews with and photographs of young people, while systematically incorporating the communication contexts of social media. This results in the typology of 'visual biographical work', which reveals milieu-specific forms of communication and biographical processes related to photography.

    Diese Studie geht der Frage nach, wie sich das Medienhandeln von Kindern in der veränderungssensitiven Phase des Schulübertritts gestaltet. Theoretisch bedient sich die Arbeit an medienpädagogischen, sozialisationstheoretischen, erziehungswissenschaftlichen sowie kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Theorien und Ansätzen und ist daher interdisziplinär ausgerichtet. Zur Beantwortung der Forschungsfragen wurde ein innovatives multi-methodisches Design gewählt. Zum Einsatz kamen ein Tagebuch sowie Leitfadeninterviews. Die Befunde zeigen eine Transformation des Medienhandelns u. a. durch veränderte Tagesstrukturen. Ebenso hat sich die Bedeutsamkeit des Smartphones im Kontext des Schulübertritts herauskristallisiert. This study examines how children use modern media while experiencing the change-sensitive phase of transitioning from primary school to secondary education. Theoretically, the work is based on theories and approaches from media education, socialisation theory, educational science and communication science, and is therefore interdisciplinary. An innovative multi-methods design was chosen to address the research questions, which involved the use of a diary as well as guided interviews. The study’s findings reveal a transformation in children’s usage of such media due to changes in their daily routines, among other things. Moreover, the importance of smartphones in this context became strikingly clear.

    Im Zuge der Mediatisierung wandeln sich die Bedingungen, unter denen Kinder Beziehungen zu anderen Personen gestalten und sich innerhalb verschiedener sozialer Kontexte positionieren. Mediale Entwicklungen und die zunehmende Mediennutzung in Familien, Peergroups, Schulen usw. wirken sich auf die Akteurskonstellationen und die kommunikativen Praktiken innerhalb dieser sozialen Kontexte aus und tragen zu deren Entgrenzung bei. Die qualitative Längsschnittstudie mit Kindern im Alter von sechs bis zwölf Jahren und ihren Eltern richtet ihren Fokus auf medienbezogene Aushandlungsprozesse und deren Bedeutung für die soziale Positionierung im zeitlichen Verlauf. Ausgangspunkt bildet dabei die Familie als erste und bedeutsamste Sozialisationsinstanz. Mit Beiträgen von Andreas Dertinger, Rudolf Kammerl, Claudia Lampert, Jane Müller, Paul Petschner, Katrin Potzel und Marcel Rechlitz. As a result of mediatisation, the conditions under which children form relationships with others and position themselves within different social contexts are changing. Media developments and the increasing use of the media in families, peer groups, schools etc. are affecting the constellations of actors and communicative practices within these social contexts and are contributing to blurring the boundaries between them. The qualitative longitudinal study of children between six and twelve and their parents that is examined in this book focuses on the role of media-related negotiation processes and their relevance for social positioning over time. The book’s starting point is the family as the first and most important station in the process of socialisation. With contributions by Andreas Dertinger, Rudolf Kammerl, Claudia Lampert, Jane Müller, Paul Petschner, Katrin Potzel and Marcel Rechlitz.

    Die Allgegenwart von Kinderfotos im Internet ist längst ein öffentlich viel und vor allem kontrovers diskutiertes Thema. Bislang äußern sich zu dieser Bilderpräsenz fast ausschließlich Erwachsene. Die Studie schließt eine Forschungslücke, indem auf der Basis von leitfadenzentrierten Interviews die Perspektive von 11- und 12-jährigen Kindern untersucht wird. Hierbei wird Fragen nach deren Nutzungspräferenzen und Darstellungsstrategien ebenso nachgegangen wie den intrafamiliären Regeln zum Mediengebrauch und der Einstellung der Eltern zum Umgang mit Kinder- und Familienbildern in Onlineumgebungen.Aufgrund der ausführlichen Darstellung der methodischen Vorgehensweise eignet sich der Band insbesondere auch für Studierende zur Einführung in die Datenerhebung mit Leitfadeninterviews sowie deren Auswertung auf der Basis einer qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse.

    Die Studie entwickelt eine medienbiografische Perspektive auf Smartphone-Fotopraktiken in der Adoleszenz. Sie fragt nach ihrer Relevanz für Biografiearbeit als Teil der Identitätsentwicklung und beleuchtet Praktiken vor dem Hintergrund medienbiografischer Erfahrungen. Biografizität und visuelle Kompetenz werden als Bildungsziele der Medienpädagogik reflektiert. Anhand der dokumentarischen Methode wurden hierzu Interviews und Fotografien der interviewten Jugendlichen interpretiert, wobei die Kommunikationskontexte sozialer Medien systematisch einbezogen wurden. Hieraus ging die Typologie ‚visuelle Biografiearbeit‘ hervor, die milieuspezifisch unterschiedliche Formen fotografiebezogener Kommunikations- und Biografisierungsprozesse offenlegt. This study develops a media biographical perspective on adolescents’ use of smartphones for photography. It investigates smartphones’ relevance in biographical work as part of identity development and examines their use against the background of media biographical experiences, while also reflecting on biographicality and visual literacy as goals of media pedagogy. Using the documentary method, the author interprets interviews with and photographs of young people, while systematically incorporating the communication contexts of social media. This results in the typology of 'visual biographical work', which reveals milieu-specific forms of communication and biographical processes related to photography.

    Diese Studie geht der Frage nach, wie sich das Medienhandeln von Kindern in der veränderungssensitiven Phase des Schulübertritts gestaltet. Theoretisch bedient sich die Arbeit an medienpädagogischen, sozialisationstheoretischen, erziehungswissenschaftlichen sowie kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Theorien und Ansätzen und ist daher interdisziplinär ausgerichtet. Zur Beantwortung der Forschungsfragen wurde ein innovatives multi-methodisches Design gewählt. Zum Einsatz kamen ein Tagebuch sowie Leitfadeninterviews. Die Befunde zeigen eine Transformation des Medienhandelns u. a. durch veränderte Tagesstrukturen. Ebenso hat sich die Bedeutsamkeit des Smartphones im Kontext des Schulübertritts herauskristallisiert. This study examines how children use modern media while experiencing the change-sensitive phase of transitioning from primary school to secondary education. Theoretically, the work is based on theories and approaches from media education, socialisation theory, educational science and communication science, and is therefore interdisciplinary. An innovative multi-methods design was chosen to address the research questions, which involved the use of a diary as well as guided interviews. The study’s findings reveal a transformation in children’s usage of such media due to changes in their daily routines, among other things. Moreover, the importance of smartphones in this context became strikingly clear.

    Im Zuge der Mediatisierung wandeln sich die Bedingungen, unter denen Kinder Beziehungen zu anderen Personen gestalten und sich innerhalb verschiedener sozialer Kontexte positionieren. Mediale Entwicklungen und die zunehmende Mediennutzung in Familien, Peergroups, Schulen usw. wirken sich auf die Akteurskonstellationen und die kommunikativen Praktiken innerhalb dieser sozialen Kontexte aus und tragen zu deren Entgrenzung bei. Die qualitative Längsschnittstudie mit Kindern im Alter von sechs bis zwölf Jahren und ihren Eltern richtet ihren Fokus auf medienbezogene Aushandlungsprozesse und deren Bedeutung für die soziale Positionierung im zeitlichen Verlauf. Ausgangspunkt bildet dabei die Familie als erste und bedeutsamste Sozialisationsinstanz. Mit Beiträgen von Andreas Dertinger, Rudolf Kammerl, Claudia Lampert, Jane Müller, Paul Petschner, Katrin Potzel und Marcel Rechlitz. As a result of mediatisation, the conditions under which children form relationships with others and position themselves within different social contexts are changing. Media developments and the increasing use of the media in families, peer groups, schools etc. are affecting the constellations of actors and communicative practices within these social contexts and are contributing to blurring the boundaries between them. The qualitative longitudinal study of children between six and twelve and their parents that is examined in this book focuses on the role of media-related negotiation processes and their relevance for social positioning over time. The book’s starting point is the family as the first and most important station in the process of socialisation.
