    Wie intervenieren Theaterprojekte in eine rassistisch strukturierte Gesellschaft und ihre Identitätskonstruktionen?Aus postkolonialer Perspektive und mit Blick u.a. auf postmigrantisches Theater oder die Kontroverse um Blackfacing an deutschen Bühnen zeichnet Tania Meyer Strategien rassismuskritischer Theaterarbeit nach.Sie stellt Theaterprojekte vor, die das dominanzgesellschaftliche Narrativ über die Aufklärung als 'europäische Errungenschaft', mit dem Identitäten des Eigenen und Anderen konstruiert werden, zur Debatte stellen. Die Studie öffnet den Blick auf die historischen Dimensionen rassistischer Unterscheidungspraxen und ihre Tradierungen bis in die Gegenwart und ist zugleich ein Plädoyer zur Repolitisierung von Theater und Theaterpädagogik How do theater projects intervene in a structurally racist society and its constructions of identity? From a postcolonial perspective and addressing subjects such as 'second generation' theater and the controversies around blackface on German stages, Tania Meyer sketches out a number of strategies of anti-racist theater work. She presents theater projects that problematize the dominant social narratives on the enlightenment as a 'European achievement', with which identities of the self and the Other are constructed. The study calls attention to the historical dimensions of racist practices of differentiation and their traditions, tracing them through to the present moment, and at the same time is a plea for the re-politicization of theater and drama teaching

    Die Reformulierung der europäischen Geschichte, die nach dem Mauerfall einsetzte, verband postfaschistische und postsozialistische Narrative zu einer westlich-kapitalistischen Erfolgsgeschichte. Ein dritter Faktor, der ebenfalls einer Neubewertung bedurft hätte, blieb hierbei jedoch unbeachtet: die koloniale Vergangenheit. Fatima El-Tayeb nähert sich den aktuellen Diskussionen um die deutsche Identität durch ihre historische Kontextualisierung und die Frage nach deren Lücken. Sie untersucht die Auswirkungen dieser einseitigen Geschichtsaufarbeitung anhand der Produktion dreier rassifizierter Gruppen - Schwarze, Roma und Muslime - als »undeutsch« und zeigt so, dass ein postmigrantisches Deutschland nicht nur offene Zukunftsvisionen, sondern auch neue Vergangenheitsnarrative braucht. The reformulation of European history post the fall of the Berlin Wall connected post-fascist and post-socialist narratives to a Western capitalist success story. A third factor however remained absent, which could have likewise used a re-evaluation: the colonial past. Fatima El-Tayeb approaches the current conflicts around German identity through their historical contextualization, and the question of their gaps. She investigates the effects of these unbalanced processes of coming to terms with history by way of the production of three racialized groups - black people, the Roma and Muslims - as »Un-German«. Thus showing that a post-migrant Germany not only needs open visions of the future, but also new historical narratives.

In this way, the discussion of "refugees" and "migrants" following the events in Cologne on New Years' Eve has increasingly taken on the tone of the demonisation of the imagined Other. As this is linked to the "tightening of the asylum act" and a European refugee politics that is increasingly isolationist, this demonisation also preserves material and symbolic relations of privilege. Die rezente mediale, politische und alltagsweltliche Behandlung von Flucht und Migration hat in Europa offenen Rassismus (wieder) »salonfähig« gemacht. Dieser setzt auch auf die Dämonisierung der imaginierten Anderen, die nicht zuletzt der Bewahrung von materiellen und symbolischen Privilegien dient. Weil die Anderen dämonisch und ungezügelt sind, so die vielleicht kürzeste Analyseformel, sind wir befugt, uns vor ihnen und unsere Vorrechte zu schützen. Die Beiträge des Bandes klären diese Verhältnisse rassismuskritisch auf und widersprechen ihnen. The recent media, political and everyday treatment of forced migration has made overt racism "socially acceptable" again. In this way, the discussion of "refugees" and "migrants" following the events in Cologne on New Years' Eve has increasingly taken on the tone of the demonisation of the imagined Other. As this is linked to the "tightening of the asylum act" and a European refugee politics that is increasingly isolationist, this demonisation also preserves material and symbolic relations of privilege. Because the Others are demonic and rampant, as the most concise formation of the analysis goes, we are empowered to protect ourselves from them. It is from this perspective that researchers come forward to speak against the hegemonic discourse.

Hier zeigen sich die Folgen einer einseitigen Geschichtsaufarbeitung, die nach dem Mauerfall postfaschistische und postsozialistische Narrative zu einer westlich-kapitalistischen Erfolgsgeschichte verband, während die koloniale Vergangenheit unbeachtet blieb.Fatima El-Tayeb zeigt die Auswirkungen dieses Prozesses anhand des Beispiels deutscher Identität: Immer wieder werden rassifizierte Gruppen - insbesondere Schwarze, Roma und Muslime - als »undeutsch« produziert, als Gruppen, die nicht nur nicht zur nationalen Gemeinschaft gehören, sondern diese durch ihre Anwesenheit gefährden. Ein postmigrantisches Deutschland braucht daher nicht nur neue Zukunftsvisionen, sondern auch neue Vergangenheitsnarrative. The reformulation of European history post the fall of the Berlin Wall connected post-fascist and post-socialist narratives to a Western capitalist success story. A third factor however remained absent, which could have likewise used a re-evaluation: the colonial past. Fatima El-Tayeb approaches the current conflicts around German identity through their historical contextualization, and the question of their gaps. She investigates the effects of these unbalanced processes of coming to terms with history by way of the production of three racialized groups - black people, the Roma and Muslims - as »Un-German«. Thus showing that a post-migrant Germany not only needs open visions of the future, but also new historical narratives.

Fatima El-Tayeb nähert sich den aktuellen Diskussionen um die deutsche Identität durch ihre historische Kontextualisierung und die Frage nach deren Lücken. Sie untersucht die Auswirkungen dieser einseitigen Geschichtsaufarbeitung anhand der Produktion dreier rassifizierter Gruppen - Schwarze, Roma und Muslime - als »undeutsch« und zeigt so, dass ein postmigrantisches Deutschland nicht nur offene Zukunftsvisionen, sondern auch neue Vergangenheitsnarrative braucht.
