    Die Soziologie ist ähnlich vielfältig wie die moderne Gesellschaft selbst. Viele ihrer Methoden und Theorien sind kaum miteinander vereinbar. Die Einführung fragt, welchen sozialen Bedürfnissen die verschiedenen soziologischen Forschungsprogramme entsprechen. Helfen sie Staaten, ihre Bevölkerung zu regieren, loten sie die Erfolgsbedingungen für Unternehmen aus, liefern sie kritische Erklärungen sozialer Ungleichheit? Die Entwicklung solcher Funktionen wird mit (wissens-)soziologischem Anspruch beschrieben. Im Resultat lassen sich Etappen in der Geschichte des Fachs und aktuelle Streitfälle neu begreifen.

    The paper seeks to fill the gap in the literature that on the one hand adopts productively a Foucauldian genealogical approach to analyze religious phenomena yet on the other hand offers only minimum details, or no account, of methodological criteria and analytical procedures. Drawing retrospectively on the methodological experiences and insights of the author’s previous genealogical exercises, and the findings of some of the works above, the paper develops a contextual genealogical approach to study the religious in colonial and post-colonial settings with a Christian background. Based on a critical adoption of Nietzschean and Foucauldian tenets and six strategic analytical axes, the approach is presented as an open and flexible context-oriented methodological alternative for the necessarily constant rethinking of the religious in the present.

    Utopisch-dystopische Romane der deutschen Gegenwartsliteratur widmen sich vermehrt dem Thema Digitalisierung und damit verbundenen Themenkomplexe, Fragestellungen, Hoffnungen und Befürchtungen. Besondere Relevanz kommt dabei der Bewertung und Kategorisierung von Individuen auf Basis von Datenanalysen zu, welche das Leben der Figuren bis ins kleinste Detail lenken und prägen. Die vorliegende Arbeit widmet sich zunächst der Frage, wie die Texte soziale Kategorisierungs- und Bewertungsmechanismen innerhalb digitalisierter Gesellschaften darstellen und inwiefern sich hier grundlegende kritische Kommentierungen herauslesen lassen. Zudem soll analysiert werden,inwiefern die Texte diese sozialen Positionierungen auch räumlich realisieren, ausgehend von der These, dass die Texte raumsemantische Strukturen nutzen, um Gefahrenpotenziale für die Freiheit und Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten des Einzelnen herauszustellen. Als theoretische Basis fungieren dabei Michel Foucaults Theorie der Gouvernementalität, sowie die von Gilles Deleuze und Felix Guattari entwickelte Theorie des glatten und gekerbten Raumes. Literarische Beispiele sind den Romanen "Qualityland" (2017) von Marc-Uwe Kling, "Die Hochhausspringerin" (2018) von Julia von Lucadou und "Technophoria" (2020) von Niklas Maak entnommen. ; Utopian-dystopian novels in contemporary German literature are increasingly devoted to the topic of digitalization and its related fields, as well as the questions, hopes and fears it entails. Of particular interest in this context is the evaluation and categorization of individuals based on data analyzes, which guide and shape the lives of the characters down to the smallest detail. The present work initially poses the question of how the texts represent social categorization and evaluation mechanisms within digitalized societies and to what extent these developments are critically commented on.     The essay engages with a screenplay by Michel Foucault, written in 1970 for a film, not realized during Foucault's lifetime, about Pablo Picasso's "Las Meninas", a series of 58 paintings that the artist made in 1957, taking up, updating, reinterpreting the famous painting with the same title by Diego Velázquez (1656). This screenplay is at the same time an example of critical reflection on reenactment in art history and itself a reenactment practice of sorts: the filmic repetition of an artistic repetition. It invites a reflection on the role of repetition as a critical operation: how doubles, reenacted images, and 'countermimesis' can become creative gestures and opening movements of transformation through plays of refraction, duplication, and multiplication of the realities and subjectivities at stake in them.
