    Von Gottfried von Straßburg, von dem nur der Name bekannt ist, stammt als einziges gesichertes Werk der "Tristan". Die Datierung des Werks wird um 1210 vermutet. Hinweise auf dieses Datum entstammen dem Roman selbst: Gottfried äußert sich darin zu zeitgenössischer Literatur und Autoren in einem Exkurs, der als "Dichterkatalog" (V. 4589ff.) bekannt ist. Der "Tristan" ist ein Minneroman von weltliterarischem Rang, dessen Motive um "liebe" und "leit" der "edelen herzen" kreisen; die Liebe wird zum zentralen Element religiöser Erfahrung. Gottfried ist der erste höfische Dichter, der "die aus der Bibelexegese entwickelte Methode der allegorischen Schriftauslegung auf weltliche Themen und Gegenstände übertragen und in den Dienst höfischer Sinngebung gestellt hat" (Joachim Bumke). Neben dem Antiken- und dem Artusroman bilden der "Tristan" und seine Fortsetzungen den dritten wichtigen Komplex des höfischen Romans. Als erster Fortsetzer gilt der aus einem schwäbischen Ministerialengeschlecht stammende Ulrich von Türheim, dessen Werk da einsetzt, wo Gottfried abbricht. Er schließt das Geschehen mit Tristans und Isoldes Liebestod ab und bewegt sich in fromm-moralischen Bahnen. Cgm 51 ist für beide Werke die älteste erhaltene Handschrift. Jedes ist kürzend bearbeitet und durch Blattverluste verstümmelt. Mit 30 ganzseitigen Miniaturen bietet die Handschrift die umfangreichste und älteste Illustration zu Gottfrieds "Tristan". // Autor: Peter Czoik // Datum: 2016 Englische Version: Of Gottfried von Straßburg only the name is known. His only securely attributed work is the "Tristan". The date of the work is assumed to have been in ca. 1210. Hints towards such a date come from the novel itself: Gottfried comments on contemporaneous literature and authors in an excursus, which has become known as "Dichterkatalog" (V. 4589ff.). The "Tristan" is a love story and a novel of world rank, the motifs of which circle around "love" and "suffering" of "noble hearts"; love becomes the central element of religious experience. Gottfried is the first court poet who transferred "the method of allegorical Scriptural interpretation developed from the biblical exegesis onto secular themes and subjects and placed it into the service of courtly interpretation" (Joachim Bumke). Next to the novels of the ancient world and to the Arthur novels, the "Tristan" and its sequels form the third important complex of the courtly novel. As the first to continue with the story is considered Ulrich von Türheim, who came from a family of Swabian ministry officials and whose work picks up where Gottfried had finished the tale. He completed the story with the love death of Tristan and Iseult and continued in a pious-moral vein. Cgm 51 is for both works the oldest preserved manuscript. Each of them has been shortened and was mutilated by loss of sheets.     Le présent ouvrage a pour ambition d'aborder tous les aspects théoriques et pratiques de la traduction intralinguale et interlinguale d'un texte poétique et d'un motif théologique qui a eu une circulation et une productivité, aussi bien textuelle qu'iconographique, extraordinaires au Moyen Age : Le Dit des trois morts et des trois vifs. Le choix de ce texte, qui présente, par-delà ses variantes et ses typologies, une structure narrative et une fonction d'exemplarité religieuse constantes et facilement reconnaissables par le lecteur médiéval, a ainsi constitué le point d'équilibre du présent travail. L'ouvrage, original dans sa méthode et ses visées, propose aussi bien une étude littéraire et historique du motif des trois morts et des trois vifs, qu'un accès aux différentes versions médiévales du texte, une réflexion traductologique tout autant qu'une tentative de restitution poétique.
