    Η εργασία αποτελεί μια προσπάθεια εξέτασης λογοθετικών και κοινωνικών πρακτικών γύρω από την πορνεία και τις διαφορετικές αναπαραστάσεις της πόρνης που συναντάμε σε αυτές κατά τον Μεσοπόλεμο στην Ελλάδα. Σκοπός της εργασίας είναι να αναδείξει τις σχέσεις εξουσίας που ασκούνται πάνω στο σώμα της πόρνης, τα εργαλεία που αυτές χρησιμοποίησαν για να κατασκευάσουν τα συστήματα αλήθειας που στήριξαν και όσες αλήθειες αποσιωπήθηκαν. Στην εργασία γίνεται μια βιβλιογραφική περιδιάβαση των μέχρι τώρα αναφορών στο θέμα, αναλύεται η σχέση μεταξύ του συνοικισμού των Βούρλων με το Νοσοκομείο Ανδρέας Συγγρός, εξετάζονται τα δύο φαινομενικά «αντίπαλα» συστήματα – το διακανονιστικό και το καταργητικό και ακολουθεί η ανάλυση Λόγου γύρω από και με σημείο αναφορά το σώμα της πόρνης. Μέσα από μια φουκωική ανάλυση, η εργασία προσπαθεί να προσεγγίσει σημαντικά ζητήματα βιοπολιτικής του 20ου αιώνα, που συγχρόνως όμως άπτονται θεμάτων του φεμινισμού, της προσφυγικής κρίσης και του αστυνομικού ελέγχου στην Ελλάδα.     Η εργασία αποτελεί μια προσπάθεια εξέτασης λογοθετικών και κοινωνικών πρακτικών γύρω από την πορνεία και τις διαφορετικές αναπαραστάσεις της πόρνης που συναντάμε σε αυτές κατά τον Μεσοπόλεμο στην Ελλάδα. Σκοπός της εργασίας είναι να αναδείξει τις σχέσεις εξουσίας που ασκούνται πάνω στο σώμα της πόρνης, τα εργαλεία που αυτές χρησιμοποίησαν για να κατασκευάσουν τα συστήματα αλήθειας που στήριξαν και όσες αλήθειες αποσιωπήθηκαν. Στην εργασία γίνεται μια βιβλιογραφική περιδιάβαση των μέχρι τώρα αναφορών στο θέμα, αναλύεται η σχέση μεταξύ του συνοικισμού των Βούρλων με το Νοσοκομείο Ανδρέας Συγγρός, εξετάζονται τα δύο φαινομενικά «αντίπαλα» συστήματα – το διακανονιστικό και το καταργητικό και ακολουθεί η ανάλυση Λόγου γύρω από και με σημείο αναφορά το σώμα της πόρνης. Μέσα από μια φουκωική ανάλυση, η εργασία προσπαθεί να προσεγγίσει σημαντικά ζητήματα βιοπολιτικής του 20ου αιώνα, που συγχρόνως όμως άπτονται θεμάτων του φεμινισμού, της προσφυγικής κρίσης και του αστυνομικού ελέγχου στην Ελλάδα. Αντικείμενο της ανάλυσης είναι μια σειρά δημοσιευμάτων στον Τύπο, περιοδικά (Ο Αγώνας της Γυναίκας, Ελληνίς, Αστυνομικά Χρονικά), λογοτεχνικά κείμενα (Γ. Καζατζάκη, Το Αμαρτωλό [1931], Κ. Μπαστιάς, Το πουλί της νύχτας [1925]), ιατρικά φυλλάδια (Κ. Σάββας, Εγχειρίδιο Υγιεινής [1924], Χ. Σ. Ευαγγέλου, Ο κίνδυνος των αφροδίσιων νόσων: Πρακτικαί συμβουλαί προς προφύλαξιν [1924], Γ. Θ. Φωτεινός, Σωθήτε από τα αφροδίσια πάθη, σύφιλιν, βλενόρροιαν, μαλακά έλκη: συμβουλαί δια τους αρρώστους και δια τους υγιείς, και μελέτες (Ν.Ν. Δρακουλίδης, Ιστορική και κοινωνική επισκόπησις της πορνείας από διεθνούς και ελληνικής απόψεως [1929]). Τα ερευνητικά ερωτήματα της εργασίας είναι: Ποια θεωρείται πόρνη και πώς ορίζεται αυτό; Πως δομούνται οι λογοθετικές και κοινωνικές πρακτικές γύρω από το σώμα της πόρνης; Ποιος ο ρόλος των Βούρλων στην προσπάθεια ελέγχου της πορνείας και των αφροδίσιων νοσημάτων; Τι σχέση έχουν τα ελληνικά πεπραγμένα με τις διεθνείς ζυμώσεις επί του θέματος εκείνη την εποχή;
