    Marcel Wibault était un personnage hors du temps, une vraie figure chamoniarde. Né à Besançon et formé aux Beaux-Arts, il s'installa à Chamonix en 1936 et ne quitta plus la vallée, laissant à la postérité plus de 4 000 oeuvres : paysages de montagne, pastorales..., sans oublier les innombrables parterres sauvages d'anémones et de rhododendrons. Ses toiles plurent immédiatement. Il peignait la nature, les montagnes de Chamonix, les fleurs de la vallée.0Il peignait également, en géologue averti, le granit et le gneiss, les schistes et les veines de quartz. Parfois, sa palette immortalisait la douceur d'un visage familier, une scène de la vie quotidienne, un repas autour d'une fondue... Un patrimoine artistique somptueux que l'association "La mémoire de Marcel Wibault" présente aux visiteurs dans le chalet du peintre. Aux côtés des reproductions soignées de quelques-unes de ses plus belles oeuvres, ce livre retrace la vie simple d'un artiste passionné et passionnant
