In ihrer ethnographischen, praxis- und performativitätstheoretisch orientierten Studie fokussiert sie die Aspekte Mehrsprachigkeit und Literalität. Im Umgang mit Mehrsprachigkeit arbeitet die Autorin heraus, wie und warum ein Spannungsfeld zwischen dem Verbieten und Wertschätzen von Familiensprachen besteht. In Bezug auf Literalität analysiert sie Praktiken der Buch- und Schriftkultur unter den Aspekten ihrer räumlichen und personellen Verankerung im Kita-Alltag. Martin Lamb is Senior Lecturer in TESOL at the University of Leeds, UK. He previously worked as a language teacher and trainer in Sweden, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Bulgaria. His main research interest is in language learner motivation and how it interacts with features of context like teaching in school. Kata Csizér is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of English and Applied Linguistics at Eötvös University, Hungary. Her main field of research interest is the social psychological aspects of L2 learning and teaching, as well as second and foreign language motivation. Alastair Henry is Professor of Language Education at University West, Sweden. His research involves the psychology of language learning and teaching. In addition to motivation, his work has focused on teacher identities and language choices in contexts of migration. Stephen Ryan is Professor of Applied Linguistics in the School of Culture, Media and Society at Waseda University, Japan. His research covers various aspects of psychology in language learning, and he has several co-authored books in the field. .

    This book offers insights into questions related to mobility, literacy learning and literacy practices of adult and adolescent migrants. The authors address learning and use of literacies among adults and adolescents in both temporary and more permanent post-migration settlements and in various contexts, exploring spatial as well as temporal dimensions of literacies and power. The formal and informal educational settings examined include state-mandated schools, community settings, and libraries, and the chapters offer insights into the complex relations between literacies and mobility, as well as a range of perspectives on language use and language learning.     This book offers an international account of the use of linguistic landscapes to promote multilingual education, from primary school to the university, and in teacher education programs. It brings linguistic landscapes to the forefront of multilingual education in school settings and teacher education, expanding the disciplinary domains through which they have been studied. Drawing on multidisciplinarity and placing linguistic landscapes in the field of language (teacher) education, this book presents empirical studies developed in eleven countries: Australia, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Mozambique, The Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain, and The United States. The chapters illustrate how multilingual pedagogies can be enhanced using linguistic landscapes in mainstream education and are written by partners of the Erasmus Plus project LoCALL “LOcal Linguistic Landscapes for global language education in the school context”
