    Christoph Ransmayrs Roman "Die letzte Welt" bietet vielfältige Möglichkeiten, den Einsatz moderner fantastischer Literatur im Schulunterricht zu erproben. Auf der thematischen Ebene gibt die Lektüre den Anstoß, über Fantasie, Schöpfungskraft und fiktive Welten zu reflektieren. Auf der formalästhetischen und gattungstheoretischen Ebene werden die Schüler mit einem komplex strukturierten Werk der literarischen Fantastik konfrontiert. Auf der Grundlage literaturwissenschaftlicher und -didaktischer Überlegungen wird zu den beiden Schwerpunkten Fantasie und Fantastik ein konkretes Unterrichtskonzept entwickelt. Stundenverläufe, Tafelbilder und Zusatzmaterialien veranschaulichen, wie sich das didaktische Potential einer fantastischen Weltkonstruktion im Deutschunterricht nutzen lässt.

    Diese Studie bestimmt die Metamorphose als eine poetische Anschauungsform, in der die literarische Imagination den Fluß der Zeit in anschauliche Zeitpunkte zerlegt. Begegnet das Konzept einer kontinuierlichen Metamorphose v.a. in naturphilosophischen Verwandlungsanschauungen, so reflektieren und kritisieren komplexe Verwandlungserzählungen insbesondere das Konzept einer diskontinuierlichen Metamorphose, das in Mythologie und Religion eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Der systematischen Rekonstruktion einer Poetik epischer Metamorphosen folgen exemplarische Interpretationen von Ovids ℗»Metamorphosen℗± sowie von Verwandlungserzählungen des 20. Jahrhunderts (Kafka und Carl Einstein, Ch. Ransmayr und Steffen Mensching) The study identifies metamorphosis as a form of poetic contemplation in which literary imagination divides the flow of time into graphic timepoints. Whereas the concept of ongoing metamorphosis is most frequently encountered in nature philosophy, complex metamorphosis narratives notably reflect upon and criticize the concept of discrete metamorphosis which plays a significant role in mythology and religion. The systematic reconstruction of a poetics of epic metamorphoses is followed by interpretations of Ovid's »Metamorphoses« and relevant 20th century narratives by Kafka, Carl Einstein, Christoph Ransmayr and Steffen Mensching
