    "Inwiefern und wozu wird im Johannes-Evangelium die Erzählung von der Offenbarung Gottes am Sinai mit der Übermittlung des Gesetzes durch Mose rezipiert? Eduard Käfer zeigt, dass das vierte Evangelium die Sinaitradition an bedeutsamen Stellen (1,14–18; 5,37f.; 6,31f.45f. und 10,34–36) in deutlich markierter Weise, oftmalig vermittelt durch andere biblische Texte und durch außerbiblisch-exegetische Traditionen, rezipiert. Dabei wird ein eigenständiges Profil deutlich: Die Sinaioffenbarung wird hochgeschätzt, aber aufgrund einer »figuralen Leseweise« (R. Hays) als Zeugnis von Jesus Christus, dem Sohn Gottes aufgefasst. Es eröffnet so die Möglichkeit, mittels verschiedener Bezüge die Identität Jesu Christus darzustellen, seinen Hoheitsanspruch als plausibel zu erweisen und Missverständnisse seiner Gesprächspartner aufzuzeigen."
