    Cet ouvrage est publié à l'occasion des expositions du 8 février au 9 avril 2017 présentées à la Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, et à la Maison de la Chine, Paris. Lieu de ses premières photographies, le Tibet occupe une place à part dans l'œuvre de Gao Bo, photographe et plasticien chinois. Cet ouvrage réunit pour la première fois les photographies prises au cours de cinq voyages au Tibet entre 1985 et 1995 qui immortalisent les rites millénaires des moines bouddhistes et la vie quotidienne empreinte de spiritualité, dans un paysage grandiose entre ciel et terre. Dix ans après leur prise de vue, l'artiste s'est à nouveau penché sur ces clichés et a retravaillé ses images en utilisant son sang comme encre et une calligraphie automatique qu'il a baptisée langage de l'âme. Par ce geste, Gao Bo souligne les limites du langage, et tente par là même de dépasser l'incommunicabilité de son expérience au Tibet. Il s'agit moins pour lui d'un sacrifice que d'une offrande

    ger: Nach dem Ende der Phase eines sozialkritischen, gesellschaftlich engagierten Realismus wollen die Autoren zwar weiterhin die oesterreichische Wirklichkeit reflektieren, allerdings mit dem Einsatz von formal avancierteren aesthetischen Mitteln der Moderne. Zentrales Thema des behandelten Jahrzehnts war die Debatte um die unbewältigte nationalsozialistische Vergangenheit Oesterreichs. Von Interesse ist dabei weniger die Beteiligung von Oesterreichern an NS-Verbrechen, sondern die 'zweite Schuld', das Verschweigen und Verdraengen der Vergangenheit und die Folgen für die gegenwaertige Beschaffenheit der oesterreichischen Gesellschaft. Als Konsequenzen diagnostizieren die Autoren geschichtliche Kontinuitaeten wie zum Beispiel Fremdenhass, Antisemitismus, Ethnozentrismus, gedeutet auch als Resultat eines oesterreichischen Minderwertigkeitskomplexes. Untersucht werden die Auswirkungen jener Kontinuitaeten auf gesellschaftliche Institutionen wie Polizei und Justiz, die mitunter menschenverachtende Gesinnungen an den Tag legen wuerden. Ihren Anteil am Weiterleben rechtsextremistischer Gesinnungen haben weiters die politischen Parteien und die katholische Kirche, da sie den Frieden mit den Taetern statt einer gruendlichen, kritischen Aufarbeitung der NS-Vergangenheit gesucht haben. Die oesterreichische Geschichte sei gepraegt durch Gehorsam und Untertanentum, die Buerger wurden von Staat und Kirche in Unmuendigkeit gehalten, was die Ausbildung rechtsextremer Einstellungen beguenstigte. Allerdings machen sich in den letzten Jahren gewisse Erstarrungstendenzen bemerkbar: Das Thema der unbewaeltigten Vergangenheit wird zum unhinterfragten Topos, der die Fortschritte der letzten Jahre negiert, die Figuren werden zu Typen, zu Transportvehikeln der geschichtlichen Fakten. Zur Methodik und den theoretischen Grundlagen der Arbeit: Da die Aussagen in den literarischen Werken nicht als Abbild der oesterreichischen Realitaet verstanden werden dürfen, da dies ihre Fiktionalität mißachten würde, scheint mir die Methode der 'Verfremdung' des Konstruktiven Realismus brauchbar zu sein, um Verbindungslinien zu ziehen zwischen den Aussagen in einer literarischen und mithin fiktionalen Konstruktion von Welt und den Konstrukten der Geschichts-, Politik- und anderer Wissenschaften, die ja ihrerseits auf einem Akt der Auswahl und Interpretation von Wirklichkeit beruhen. eng: After the period of the sociocritical realism of the seventies and early eighties Austrian authors still want to reflect on Austrian society, but now with the aesthetically advanced methods of the European modernism. The central theme between 1985 and 1995 was the debate about the undigested national socialistic past of Austria. The authors emphasize the 'second guilt', the concealment and repression, the 'de-realisation' of this period and the consequences on today's Austrian society. Some examples of those historical continuities are: xenophobia, anti-Semitism, ethnocentrism, interpreted as the result of an Austrian inferiority complex. The authors also analyse the effects of these continuities on social institutions like the executive power and the legal authorities that, from time to time, show an inhuman thinking and behaviour. The political parties and the Catholic Church did their part to the persistence of right-wing extremistic sentiments, since they sought peace with the former national socialists instead of a (self-)critical discussion of the past. The whole Austrian history is, according to the authors, imprinted by obedience and submissiveness. The citizens were kept in political immaturity by both the state and the church, which supported the formation of right-wing extremistic thinking. But at the end of that decade, some tendencies of paralysis are revealed: The theme of the undigested past becomes an unreflected topic, which denies the positive developments during the last years. The characters become types, they are only a means of transporting facts of Austria's past and present situation. Concerning the methods of the dissertation: as it is not possible to treat the texts simply as a mirror of the Austrian society - which would neglect their status of fictionality - the concept of 'strangification' of the Constructive Realism is, in my opinion, a good way to compare the statements in the literary texts with those in other models of the reality such as, for example, the results of history, political science, psychology or sociology.
