    In der Corona-Pandemie werden viele Themen zum Gegenstand öffentlicher Debatten, welche die Erziehungswissenschaft im Allgemeinen und die erziehungswissenschaftliche Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung im Besonderen seit Langem beschäftigen: Reproduktion sozialer Ungleichheit in Bildungskontexten, ungleiche Verteilung privater Sorge-, Erziehungs- und Betreuungsarbeit, Marginalisierung nicht-heteronormativer Lebensformen u.v.m. Das Ringen um eine Rückkehr zur "Normalität" ist allgegenwärtig. Der Band zeigt aus geschlechtertheoretischer und erziehungswissenschaftlicher Sicht, dass diese Normalität zu den Bedingungen der Krise selbst gehört und eine Rückkehr zu einer solchen Normalität bestehende Herrschaftsverhältnisse fortsetzt

    I develop a structural demand model for mobile telephone service, which facilitates the identification of network effects and compatibility between networks. Network effects are measured by the dependence of consumer willingness to pay on the installed base of subscribers. Compatibility is measured by the relative extent of cross- and own-network effects. I then estimate the model using quarterly panel data from the Polish mobile telephone industry from 1996-2001 and find strong network effects and - despite full interconnection of the mobile telephone networks - low compatibility. I also show that ignoring network effects leads to an overestimation of elasticity of demand.

    We investigate private and social incentives for standardization to ensure market-wide system compatibility in a two-dimensional spatial competition model. We develop a new methodology to analyze competition on a torus and show that there is a fundamental conflict of interest between consumers and producers over the standardization decision. Consumers prefer standardization with full compatibility because it offers more variety that confers a better match with their ideal specifications. However, firms are likely to choose the minimal compatibility to maximize product differentiation and soften competition. This is in sharp contrast to the previous literature that shows the alignment of private and social incentives for compatibility.
