    Abstract: "Mit dem Thema 'Liebe' griff die Jahrestagung des Netzwerks Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung NRW einen Gegenstand auf, der traditionell dem Bereich des Privaten zugeordnet wird. Das Bewusstsein für dessen politische Dimension stellt jedoch eines der grundlegenden Paradigmen der neuen Frauenbewegung und der Geschlechterforschung dar. Die Vorträge beleuchteten die in heutigen Lebenswelten diskutierten Liebeskonzepte, Überlegungen zur Liebe als 'heteronormativer Institution', mittelalterliche Abschiedsdarstellungen, Diskurse der Frauenbewegung um 1900, Frauenfreundschaften im Kontext der Wende, die 'neue Väterliteratur' sowie das Verhältnis von Liebe und Musik im 16. Jahrhundert. Eva Illouz fragte in ihrer Keynote nach den Auswirkungen der sexuellen Befreiung auf Männer und Frauen und deren Folgen für die romantische Liebe. Viele Vorträge dieser Tagung erweiterten den Blick auf die Liebe über das traditionelle Liebespaar hinaus." (Autorenreferat)

    Abstract: "Der Beitrag fokussiert auf die Protagonistinnen und zugleich Erzählerinnen von Stephenie Meyers Twilight-Saga und E. L. James' Fifty-Shades-Trilogie und vergleicht sie mit ihrem Prototyp, Jane Eyre aus dem gleichnamigen Roman von Charlotte Brontë. Im Zentrum steht eine Analyse der Selbstbeschreibung von Bella, Ana und Jane als gewöhnlich, unscheinbar und wenig attraktiv. Indem diese Selbstbeschreibung in den Kontext des Gesamttextes - und damit der Liebesgeschichte und ihrer seit dem 19. Jahrhundert etablierten Begehrensökonomie - gestellt wird, kann herausgearbeitet werden, wie die Sichtweise der Erzählerinnen im Text gewichtet und punktuell infrage gestellt wird und wie sich die Protagonistinnen im Laufe der Erzählung in feminine und begehrenswerte Frauen verwandeln. Dadurch kann in den Blick genommen werden, welche spezifische Form weißer bürgerlicher heterosexueller Weiblichkeit in heteronormativen Liebesgeschichten entworfen und bekräftigt wird."     Abstract: Pierre Hadot shows us, in his interpretations of Goethe and the tradition of spiritual exercises, that true love has a transforming potential, since it corresponds to an exercise of the spirit capable of revealing the ideal that surrounds and constitutes the reality of lovers. Differently, Foucault explains, by Baudelaire and the culture of the aesthetics of existence, that the transfiguring practice of love propitiates the creation of the present time 'as if through fiction' and not by the presence of the ideal in the real. Therefore, perhaps we can affirm that the spirituality of love, conceived by Hadot, would reside in the eternalization of the present moment and in the universalization of the soul, whose beauty articulates the lovers ideally to the Nature.     Abstract: "Im Sinne einer kulturwissenschaftlichen Emotionsforschung, die Affekte und Gefühle auf ihre kulturellen Repräsentationsformen und Bedingungen hin untersucht, wird in historischer Perspektive gezeigt, wie das Narrativ mütterlicher Fürsorge bis heute das kulturelle Verständnis von der Frau formt. Die Analyse eines filmischen (Stephen Daldry The Hours) und eines literarischen Beispiels (Julia Franck Die Mittagsfrau) stellt zwei Werke in den Mittelpunkt, die jeweils eine Doppelperspektive einnehmen, die der Mutter und die des Kindes. Sie gehören zu der Textgruppe, die ein im Weiblichkeitsdiskurs eher tabuisiertes Feld behandeln, nämlich Mütter zu perspektivieren, die ihre Kinder nicht aufopferungsvoll lieben. Sie sind als kritische Reflexionen biologistischer Vorannahmen über scheinbar ąnatürliche' Mütterlichkeit, mit der innerhalb des kulturell verankerten binären Systems gleichzeitig die "Unnatürlichkeit" männlicher Fürsorge impliziert ist, ebenso zu verstehen wie als Infragestellun

    Abstract: This article examines the application of Edmund Burke's aesthetic concept of the beauty in Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. Edmund Burke's A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful is a theoretical work which study the human passions at the most basic level. Furthermore, it distinguishes the difference between the sublime and the beauty. The beauty is a passion which arouses love and pleasure. In the same respect, Wuthering Heights is a story full of human passions and it talks about human sufferings and pleasures. The sources of pleasure are expressed variously in Wuthering Heights, for example through lights, colors, smallness, etc. These different elements which are the sources of pleasure in Wuthering Heights make it an appropriate novel for the application of the aesthetic concept of the beauty. Thus, this study aims at exploring the different ways on which the Burke's theory of beauty is expressed in Wuthering Heights

    Abstract: Marilynne Robinson's Gilead (2007), a meditative letter written by an aging minister, probes the need for forgiveness and grace. George Bernanos's The Diary of a Country Priest (1936) pictures the suffering and sacrifice of an unnamed young priest in his attempt to open his parishioner’s heart to the love of God. Both novelists explore themes such as forgiveness, love, peace, faith, and grace. This paper first discusses the prevalent Christian themes in these novels, and the ways each novelist presents the saving and life-giving power of God's grace in healing and restoring human soul, and then compares their treatment of these issues. The Protestant Robinson's sensibility regarding these religious themes seems very similar to that of the Catholic Bernanos. Indeed, the American writer seems to be considerably influenced by her French predecessor

    Abstract: One of the most radical and stylish fiction authors of the 20th century, Angela Carter, expresses her views of feminism through her various novels and fairy tales. Carter began experimenting with writing fairy tales in 1970, which coincided with the period of second wave feminism in the Unites States. The majority of Angela Carter's work revolve around a specific type of feminism, radical libertarian feminism and her critique of the patriarchal role that have been placed on women. In this article, the main concentrate is on heroine’s internalized consciousness which echoes in their behavior. All of the female protagonists in carter's short stories; such as The Company of Wolves, and Werewolf and mainly in Wolf-Alice have similar characteristics with different conditions, in which they are represented in a very negative light with less than ideal roles.     Abstract: Antony Pogorelsky (1787-1836) (the pseudonym of А. А. Perovsky) was one of the writers active in the early stages of Russian romantic prose, when romanticism, with its new artistic outlook based on rapt attention towards and keen interest in the inner world of feelings and emotions of its literary heroes, replaced the literary movement of sentimentalism with its orientation toward the ideas of the enlightenment. The current article is aimed at the investigation of the first book by A. Pogorelsky "The Double, or My Evenings in Malorossia", the novelty of which lies not only in the fact that the book is directly correlated with the traditions of West European romanticism (which was undoubtedly well-known to the writer), but also in the introduction of a new principle of composition into Russian literature (the cycle of several stories united through dialogic framing), which was the first experiment of this kind in the Russian literary environment and would soon become one of the favo

    Abstract: "Die Glut", ein Roman des ungarischen Schriftstellers Sándor Márai aus dem Jahre 1942, war in Deutschland unbeachtet geblieben, bis er anlässlich der Frankfurter Buchmesse 1999 neu entdeckt und als literarische Sensation gefeiert wurde. Die sich an das Original anlehnende Erstübersetzung von 1950 hieß "Die Kerzen brennen ab" und spielte auf eine Begegnung zweier alter Freunde an, die sich nach 41 Jahren des Getrenntseins ein letztes Mal treffen, um im Schein der blauen Kerzen über das, was zum Bruch ihrer Freundschaft geführt hat, zu sprechen. Was war an jenem 2. Juli 1899 geschehen, an dem für Henrik, die Zentralfigur des Romans, die langjährige Freundschaft zu Konrád und zugleich die Liebesbeziehung zu seiner Ehefrau Krisztina zerbrach? Die Darstellung beginnt mit der Beziehung zwischen Henrik und seinen Eltern, die in Rückblenden vermittelt wird.     Abstract: Angela Carter was an English fiction writer and journalist. Her female protagonists often take an empowered roles where they rise up against oppression and fight for both sexual and political equality. The actions of these women are direct reflections of the feminist movement that took place in the 1970s. The concepts within this movement relating specifically to the ideologies of radical-libertarian feminist, and regarding the extent to which she promotes feminist due to her style, referred to as "Galm-Rock" feminism. Carter began experimenting with writing fairy tales in 1970, which coincided with the period of second wave feminism in the Unites States. The majority of Angela Carter's work revolve around a specific type of feminism, radical libertarian feminism and her critique of the patriarchal role that have been placed on women. The majority of Angela Carter's work revolve around a specific type of feminism, radical libertarian feminism and her critique of the patriarchal role that have been placed on women. which she promotes feminist due to her style, referred to as "Galm-Rock" feminism In this article, the main concentrate is on heroine's internalized consciousness which echoes in their behavior. All of the female protagonists in carter's short stories; such as The Werewolf, The Wolf-Alice, and mainly in The Company of Wolves have similar characteristics with different conditions, in which they are represented in a very negative light with less than ideal roles.     Abstract: Der kommunikationswissenschaftliche Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der Show 'Nur die Liebe zählt', die auf RTL von K. Pflaume moderiert wird. Die Sendung wendet sich in erster Linie an ein jüngeres Publikum (15-30 Jahre). Vor einem kleinen Studiopublikum präsentiert der Moderator etwa eine Stunde lang Menschen aus dem wirklichen Leben, die glauben, mit Hilfe dieser Sendung ihre privaten Beziehungen besser gestalten zu können. Als Mitspieler bewerben kann sich jeder Mann bzw. jede Frau (halbwegs gut aussehend), der/die verschiedene Handlungsprobleme in Sachen Liebe lösen möchte. Als Fallbeispiel wird die Geschichte von Manuela und Jörg herangezogen, die am 03. November 1993 zu Gast in der Sendung waren. Den methodologischen und methodischen Bezugsrahmen der Interpretation bilden die Prämissen einer hermeneutischen Wissenssoziologie.     Abstract: In diesem Artikel stelle ich dar, dass beim Übersetzen in der interkulturellen Forschung eine linguistische Hierarchie hervorgebracht wird, wobei die englische Sprache die rumänische Sprache unterordnet. Ich illustriere meine Argumentation mit Beispielen aus 47 qualitativen Interviews mit schottischen und rumänischen Vätern, in denen es um das Thema "Liebe" geht. Ich beschreibe, wie ich in meiner Rolle als anglo-rumänische zweisprachige Interpretin unbeabsichtigt zur Entstehung dieser Hierarchie beigetragen habe. Beim Übersetzen geschah dies, indem ich das Rumänisch dem Englischen anglich, um die Bedeutungen, Werte und Gefühle rumänischer Väter einem hauptsächlich englischsprachigen Publikum zu vermitteln. Durch emotionale Reflexivität und Fokussierung auf Genderfragen im Rahmen der Verantwortung der Wissensproduktion löste ich eine Reihe linguistischer Spannungen. Die Übertragung emotionaler Bedeutungen in eine andere Sprache hat paradoxer Weise die gravierende positive Konsequenz

In Janette Oke’s novels, the nature and meaning of love is the common path in choosing a life partner for marriage. In her view, marital love is a main principle in transcending human life. In her novels, when pure love happens in which we love somebody honestly without expecting reciprocation. In such relationship, the lover can only adjust his behaviors to show the message of love.     Abstract: While fathers seldom say "I love you" to their son(s), there is also acknowledgment that sons rarely say it to their father. Confessions of love are like notes in a melody of previous affirmations, so what is it like for a son to say it, especially if large parts of his life are spent in "connective avoidance" with his dad? Writing on the (im)possibility of eventually saying "I love you", just before he died, I offer a "blissfully poetic" account of the experience of saying it. I also reflect on the lingering significance it has had for my experience of loss and bereavement. Although this text offers no easy formula, it ends by showing what a text of bliss might eventually look like for a son in recovery. Addressing the questions, so what? And, now what, then? implications beyond the self are also considered
