Ausgangspunkt sind drei unterschiedliche Perspektiven: die logische, die dialektische und die rhetorische Perspektive. Dabei liegt der Schwerpunkt auf dialektischen und rhetorischen Ansätzen. Die Fragen: Welche Form hat ein Argument? Welche Funktion hat Argumentation? Wie bestimmt sich die Geltung von Argumenten/ Argumentation? leiten durch die Darstellungen und Diskussionen. Der Band umfasst drei Abschnitte: I) die verschiedenen Perspektiven auf Argumentation und die relevanten Theorien, II) die Möglichkeiten der Analyse von Argumentation und aktuelle Fragen innerhalb der Argumentationswissenschaft sowie III) aktuelle Forschungsthemen, hier das Verhältnis von Narration und Argumentation, die Multimodalität von Argumentation und das Problem fundamentalen Dissenses (Deep Dissensus). Er richtet sich an Studentinnen und Studenten der Rhetorik, Linguistik, Sprechwissenschaft, Philosophie und Sozialwissenschaft sowie an alle am Gegenstand der Argumentation interessierten Leserinnen und Leser.

    This book illustrates the structuralist idea that language creates the reality we perceive. The data presented in this volume focus on the problematic issues of the passive construction and irregular (strong) verbs, with examples taken primarily from English with separate subsections on German and Russian. The author presents a new and different analysis of these complex topics which proceeds from the levels of form to meaning rather than the traditional and generative methodologies that follow the opposite path from meaning to form. This book will be of interest to all linguists who have ever confronted the controversial question of the interaction between lexical exceptions and grammatical rules. The scope of this volume is rather broad and it compares and contrasts text grammar versus sentence grammar in an innovative way.

    Ausgangspunkt der Arbeit ist die Beobachtung, daß innerhalb natürlicher Sprachen Ausdrücke ausgetauscht werden können, ohne daß ein Unterschied im Ausgedrückten angenommen werden muß. Diese Eigenschaft der Paraphrasierbarkeit bewirkt eine kommunikativ vorteilhafte Flexibilität und sorgt für günstige Spielräume beim Übersetzen. "Nichtwörtliches" (strukturveränderndes) Übersetzen läßt sich zusammensetzen aus einem unakzeptablen Versuch "wörtlichen" Übersetzens und aus einer nachfolgenden akzeptablen Paraphrasierung in der Zielsprache. In Teil I der Arbeit werden Arten der Ungleichheit von Ausdruckspaaren ausgesondert und Wege zu deren Überwindung aufgezeigt. Teil II legt die Modifizierung des von Mel'cuk, Apresjan u.a. entwickelten Mehrebenen-Sprachmodells "Smysl-Tekst" dar. Im Zentrum steht die von einer semantischen Valenztheorie geprägte tiefensyntaktische Struktur mit den sog. lexikalischen Funktionen, die Mittel semantischer Kurzbeschreibung sein sollen. Teil III präsentiert ein Netzwerk von rund 1500 Einschritt-Typen deutscher (zuzüglich spezifisch russischer) Paraphrasen, wobei die rund 700 in der Tiefensyntaktischen Struktur erzeugten Typen bereits formal notiert werden. In Teil IV finden sich die im Mittelteil vorgeführten Möglichkeiten nun als Notwendigkeiten struktureller Veränderung bei der russisch-deutschen Übersetzung. Aufgestellt wird ein Katalog von Motiven für obligatorisch paraphrasierendes Übersetzen. Teil V zeigt den teils formalisierten Versuch einer durchgängigen Analyse am Beispiel der Anfangspassage von Tolstojs Roman "Anna Karenina" und den deutschen Übersetzungen. Ziel der Arbeit ist vor allem die Grundlegung von mehrsprachigen Erklärend-Kombinierenden Wörterbüchern und von Übersetzungsphrasenbüchern

Ausgangspunkt sind drei unterschiedliche Perspektiven: die logische, die dialektische und die rhetorische Perspektive. Dabei liegt der Schwerpunkt auf dialektischen und rhetorischen Ansätzen. Die Fragen: Welche Form hat ein Argument? Welche Funktion hat Argumentation? Wie bestimmt sich die Geltung von Argumenten/ Argumentation? leiten durch die Darstellungen und Diskussionen. Der Band umfasst drei Abschnitte: I) die verschiedenen Perspektiven auf Argumentation und die relevanten Theorien, II) die Möglichkeiten der Analyse von Argumentation und aktuelle Fragen innerhalb der Argumentationswissenschaft sowie III) aktuelle Forschungsthemen, hier das Verhältnis von Narration und Argumentation, die Multimodalität von Argumentation und das Problem fundamentalen Dissenses (Deep Dissensus).
