His brother, Christian, has inherited his father's land, next to a strange, magical forest that brings to life characters of ancient myths. Christian disappears into the forest, and Steven goes after him. Upon entering the woods, Steven finds an ancient mythical Roman woman, Gwenneth, who was endowed with incredible beauty. Also in the forest, Steven discovers a giant demon, Robin Hood, and other creatures, palaces, tribes and entire civilizations before finding his brother
