"This volume unpacks the impact of the reception and translation of "untranslatable" experimental poetry on the growth of this global literary movement, influenced by the work of Ezra Pound and Ernest Fenollosa. Featuring contributions from an international group of literary and translation scholars and practitioners, working across a variety of languages, the book views the movement's development through the lens of "transcreation", framed here as the informed but creative process and response to difficult or untranslatable texts, and spotlights case studies from Ezra Pound and the Brazilian Noigrandre group, early modernism, and Chinese-language concrete poetry, while other chapters engage in discussions of social network analysis and examinations of 21st century concrete poetry to further demonstrate the significance of crosslinguistic contact in the translation process.
