L. W. Rochowanski (1885 Zuckmantel - 1961 Wien) war auf mindestens vier scheinbar disparaten Gebieten künstlerisch tätig: als Herausgeber und Verfasser von Mundartliteratur, als Programmatiker des avantgardistischen Theaters und Tanzes, als expressionistischer Autor und als Förderer und Vermittler von angewandter Kunst aus Österreich. Im Beitrag wird zum einen die expressionistisch-avantgardistische Position Rochowanskis im Theaterbetrieb und als Autor beleuchtet. Zum anderen wird darauf hingewiesen, dass die scheinbar disparaten künstlerischen Betätigungen Rochowanskis in anthroposophisch beeinflussten Menschen- und Kunstauffassungen eine gemeinsame Wurzel haben. L. W. Rochowanski (1885 Zuckmantel - 1961 Vienna) was active artistically in at least four seemingly disparate areas: as editor and author of dialect literature, as a 'programmatic thinker' of avant-garde theatre and dance, as an expressionist writer and as a promoter and propagator of Austrian applied arts. On one hand, the paper sheds light on Rochowanski's expressionist avant-garde position in theatre and his writing and on the other hand, shows that Rochowanski's seemingly disparate artistic activities are rooted in a common conceptual basis of anthroposophic concepts of art and mankind.
