Der vorliegende Aufsatz stellt einige der wichtigsten Aspekte der Geschichte des deutschen Exils nach 1933 und der Geschichte des Exils der deutschsprachigen Schriftsteller und Intellektuellen in Brasilien dar. Der zweite Abschnitt der Arbeit konzentriert sich auf die in Brasilien geschriebenen Exilwerke von Ulrich Becher und Hugo Simon.
