This article presents and analyzes examples of the main forms of digital literature that employ the possibilities of programming. Hypertexts make the reader search for a path through a non-linear textual structure; kinetic visual poetry sets letters and texts in motion; multimedia installations combine text, pictures and/or audio; text generators try to simulate the creative process of human writing; literary computer games raise the question of the difference between reading and gaming; finally, program code poetry mingles natural language and computer code. Digital literature is highly self-reflexive, questioning all aspects of reading and writing, including the borders between literary and pragmatic texts, and the relation between the fine arts and music. Moreover, unstable kinetic and randomly created texts explore the mechanisms of the creation of meaning, whereas the performativity and interactivity of digital literature draw attention to the role the reader/user plays in the process of literary communication.

In the wake of the development of capitalism during the nineteenth century in Europe a very different way of dressing was established for men and women, whose main trends came from France and England. Spain, which was economically and culturally backward compared to the modernity of other European countries, still had a late influence on the wardrobe, especially around the end of the century. This period coincides with the maximum expression of Spanish literary realism and naturalism, in which it is possible to look for interesting elements of the characters' costumes to understand the society of that time. In particular, this article aims to analyse the work of Benito Pérez Galdós published in 1876, "Doña Perfecta", in which a woman manages to become a chief of a country in the province of Spain. Her authority is demonstrated not only through her attitude, but also by her wardrobe: the use of sober and dark colours is reminiscent of men's suits, thus male over female authority. However, Perfecta is also a mother, and that adds value to her government and her decisions, which are also an allegory of the figure of the Virgin. The conclusion of the analysis of this novel finds us in the reflection in which fashion is not simply something superficial that changes according to the frivolous taste of women, but a mirror of the model of women that is imposed by men on women. This social sign is essential to understand how patriarchal society tried to obtain absolute power at the end of the 19th century and the way women react to this imposition.

This paper investigates the disproportion of the Analytics of the Sublime in context of the Critique of Judgement, as an analogy to the impossibility of reconciling moral theory and practice, nature and reason; thus the bridge between the first and the second critiques, which should be mediated by the third, is marked anew: the sublime corresponds to the violence masked within social processes. Kant’s position is worked out upon the background of Shaftesbury and Burke and thus emerges the fact that the Königsberg philosopher is oriented towards ahistorical rational ideas. His concept of the sublime (as well as his ethics) is therefore situated in the traditions of protestant ascetism and bourgeois-capitalism. Both the beholder of sublime nature and art and the follower of moral imperative must equally relinquish everything material and the direct satisfaction of their yearnings in favour of a higher, intellectual satisfaction. In the same way, the absence of form or measure of the sublime has its parallel in the “negative infinity” of capital and in technological “second nature”.
