Online Lecture Series: Europe in Jewish Garb. The Yiddish Collection of Oluf Tychsen Contextualized, Rostock
Rostock University Library holds one of the major collections of Yiddish works in Germany. Oluf Gerhard Tychsen (1734 – 1815), prolific Orientalist, librarian and Hebraist, was a dedicated scholar of Jewish languages and cultures. His collection contains a substantial and representative selection of premodern Yiddish works, which this lecture series will present and contextualize.
All lectures begin at 7pm.
