„Und als ich ging, nahm ich mir vor, ein Buch zu schreiben, über die Könige, die Geisteskranken und die Künstler. – und nicht zuletzt ein Buch über mich selbst.“ Der Satz aus Gerhard Roths „Das Labyrinth“ reflektiert in groben Zügen das Gesamtprojekt des Buches. Diesem Vorhaben soll sich diese Arbeit annähern und die poetischen Strukturen des Wahnsinns herausarbeiten ohne dabei in seine gängigen Klischees zu verfallen. Als Referenztheorie dient vor allem die Philosophie von Gilles Deleuze und Félix Guattari aus dem „Anti-Ödipus“ und „Tausend Plateaus“, die über die Konzepte der maschinistischen Weltsicht, sowie des glatten bzw. des gekerbten Raumes den Schlüssel zum Verständnis der labyrinthischen Un-Struktur liefert. Dabei war das Hauptanliegen, die rhizomatisch wuchernden Sinnstrukturen des Textes zu analysieren ohne diesen durch Überstrukturierung zu zerstören. ; “And when I left, I resolved to write a book about kings, madmen and artists. – and if nothing else, a book about myself.” [F.H.] This line from Gerhad Roth's novel Das Labyrinth (The Labyrinth) highlights the main project of his book. This thesis investigates this subject and analyses the poetic structures of madness avoiding the trap of usual cliches. The philosophy of Gille Deleuze and Félix Guattari (Anti-Oedipus and A Thousand Plateaus), comprising the concepts of the world as an assemblage of machines, and the idea of smooth vs. striated space is used as a key reference for the understanding of the labyrinth-like anti-structure. The goal is to analyse the rhizomatic growing patterns of the text without destroying it at the same time by over-structuring the actual text.
