The Russian Realist Novel and the World (NeMLA 2023)

The panel seeks to examine Russian realist novels and their impact on other world literatures of the nineteenth and twentieth century, as well as contemporary authors, and study the possible connections between the Russian realist tradition and other texts that can be potentially related to its literary legacy. We invite abstracts devoted specifically to the analysis of any aspect of Russian realist novels of the nineteenth century, as well as papers on broader philosophical and social issues relevant to the Russian realist novel tradition and its influence world-wide. Please submit your abstract through the official NeMLA portal by September 30, 2022.
