The Warburg Institute Iconographic Database contains digitised images from the Institute's Photographic Collection and Library. (...) The first section to be completed is our selection of photos from astronomical and astrological manuscripts from the Middle Ages and Renaissance (look under 'Magic & Science: Astronomy and Astrology' or search for 'astronomy') (...). The Photographic Collection of the Warburg Institute is continuing its efforts to digitise the complete holdings of its section on Gods and Myths. We hope our collection of materials, now freely accessible on the internet, will form a valuable aid to anyone seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the visual traditions of Classical Antiquity and its afterlife in western culture.
