Panel Discussion “Central European Culture Salon: Perspectives and challenges of literary and cultural cooperation in Central Europe”
How do Central Europe's cultural and literary scenes work together? What obstacles do they face? And what prospects are there for transnational cultural cooperation in Central Europe?
These questions will be discussed on September 23, 2024 by the Vienna-based Ukrainian writer Tanya Malyarchuk, Polish writer Ziemowit Szczerek, Viennese literary blogger Tino Schlench (literaturpalast), Suhrkamp editor Katharina Raabe and Belarusian translator in exile Iryna Herasimovich at the Central European Culture Salon. After the discussion, there will be the possibility for the audience to join the conversation in a Q&A session.
The conversation is organized and hosted by the Department for Comparative Literature at the University of Vienna, the Institute for Slavic and Hungarian Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the CENTRAL network and takes place as part of the 10th anniversary conference of the CENTRAL network “Imagining Central Europe” (23-25 September 2024, University of Vienna).
