The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) invites applications for the position of
Professeur-e ordinaire in Modern English Literature (18th-21st century)
The successful candidate will possess a doctorate in English. He or she will be expected to teach courses in the entire field of English literature from 1780 to the present at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will supervise BA, MA and doctoral theses.
Candidates should have a proven record of scholarship and publication in the field at an international level and experience in university teaching and administration. They will demonstrate their ability and willingness to integrate themselves into the department and faculty, to take on administrative tasks, to direct research projects and to acquire external research funding.
Teaching in the department is conducted exclusively in English. The University of Fribourg is a bilingual (French / German) university. Fluent knowledge of one official language and passive knowledge of the other are required.
Starting date is August 1, 2020.
