L'Europe des Lettres, Centre de Recherche en Littérature Comparée, Université de Strasbourg 2
Fully integrated within the research team «Configurations littéraires» [Literary configurations], our research group «L’Europe des Lettres» is attached to the Institute for Comparative Literature of the University of Strasbourg. This Institute, one of the earliest founded and dedicated to Comparative Literature in France, aims to promote and favour comparatist researches in all fields of modern and contemporary european literatures. Links with other departments of comparative literature in France are narrow, including with the SFLGC (Société Française de Littérature Comparée). Consequently « L’Europe des Lettres » aims both to unite specialists of our discipline within a team, whilst also organising high-level researches (PhDs, colloquiums, publications), in order to establish in Strasbourg, European capital, a reputable modern center of excellence in comparative studies. Our speciality lies in the study of modern european literatures and the center is open to all research students from M.A onwards, who wish to give to their research the widest possible cultural orientation. L’Europe des Lettres is also devoted to future PhD students, who will find their natural place amongst us. Temporary lecturers, assistants, part-time teachers are also welcome to take part in our research sessions and the Institute will provide the necessary support to enable them to explore and develop their own projects
