    In den aktuellen bildungspolitischen Debatten um die Bildungssprache stehen nach wie vor die zweitsprachlichen - insbesondere die schriftsprachlichen - Kompetenzen von Schüler*innen mit einer anderen Erstsprache als Deutsch im Fokus. Vor diesem Hintergrund befasst sich diese Studie mit der Entwicklung schriftsprachlicher Kompetenzen mehrsprachiger Schüler*innen im syntaktischen Bereich. Die syntaktische Entwicklung im Türkischen und Deutschen wird im 7., 10. und 12. Jahrgang anhand schriftlicher argumentativer Texte untersucht. Zu diesem Zweck werden einfachere und komplexere Satzverknüpfungsverfahren in beiden Sprachen berücksichtigt. Die Untersuchung der Effekte der bilingualen vs. monolingualen Beschulung erfolgt anhand zweier Probandengruppen: (a) aus einer bilingualen Schule mit Türkisch als Unterrichtssprache ab der 1. Klasse und (b) aus einer deutsch monolingualen Schule mit Türkisch als zweiter Fremdsprache ab der 7. Klasse. Die Studie gehört zu den wenigen Arbeiten, die den Schriftspracherwerb mehrsprachiger Schüler*innen unter Berücksichtigung beider Sprachen sowie der erstsprachlichen Instruktion untersuchen und die syntaktische Entwicklung der Schüler*innen in drei verschiedenen Jahrgängen der Sekundarstufe I und II vergleichen

    Main description: The study inquires into the way in which specialist (scholarly and scientific) texts are reproduced for research purposes and integrated into new texts. Of especial interest are factors influencing these processes. Situative factors have a bearing on the incorporation of receptive and productive processes into concrete social, cultural, and historical contexts, on the subject under discussion and various other things.     This book brings together a variety of voices – students and teachers, journal editors and authors, writers from the global north and south – to interrogate the notion of risk as it applies to the production of academic writing. Risk-taking is viewed as a productive force in teaching, learning and writing, and one that can be used to challenge the silences and erasures inherent in academic tradition and convention. Widening participation and the internationalisation of higher education make questions of language, register, agency and identity in postgraduate writing all the more pressing, and this book offers a powerful argument against the further reinforcement of a ‘northern’ Anglophone understanding of knowledge and its production and dissemination.     The current focus on the theme of authorship in Medieval and Early Modern studies reopens questions of poetic agency and intent. Bringing into conversation several kinds of scholarship on medieval authorship, the essays in Author, Reader, Book examine interrelated questions raised by the relationship between an author and a reader, the relationships between authors and their antecedents, and the ways in which authorship interacts with the physical presentation of texts in books.The broad chronological range within this volume reveals the persistence of literary concerns that remain consistent through different periods, languages, and cultural contexts. Theoretical reflections, case studies from a wide variety of languages, examinations of devotional literature from figures such as Bishop Reginald Pecock, and analyses of works that are more secular in focus, including some by Chaucer and Christine de Pizan, come together in this volume to transcend linguistic and disciplinary boundaries
