    Abstract: This article addressed identity reconstruction through an analysis of two of the most prominent fictional works by one of the Chinese Indonesian young writers, Audrey Yu Jia Hui. In encompassing the idea of identity rewriting, I addressed Hui's second and third novels respectively, Mellow Yellow Drama (2014) and Mencari Sila Kelima (Searching for the Fifth Principle, 2015), through the post-structural concepts of Derrida's deconstruction, and also in relation to cultural studies views on identity. The works were analyzed through close-reading technique. The novels were published during the Reformation (Reformasi) era, where politics had served to be a profound aspect that directed the cultural identity and social attitude of the society. In a range of aspects, from narrative structure to their deeper themes, Hui’s literary works were found to draw on a distinguishable set of strategies which enabled Hui to establish her own identity as someone who was liberated, culturally accepted

Die Inhalte von vier Erzählbänden aus der polnischen Prosapalette der späten 80er und der ersten Hälfte der 90er Jahre werden dargestellt, um den Zustand der nationalen Literatur zu dokumentieren.     Abstract: 'Im Rahmen der post-positivistischen Neuorientierung der Sozial- und Humanwissenschaften hat sich ein verstärktes Interesse an der Erzählung und dem Erzählen herausgebildet. Dabei geht es nicht allein um ein weiteres Untersuchungsfeld, sondern um einen neuen intellektuellen Stil, der sich an hermeneutisch-interpretativen Traditionen orientiert. Im Rückgriff auf diskurspsychologische, konversationsanalytische, literaturwissenschaftliche und sprachphilosophische Überlegungen wird diskutiert, warum das Studium der Narration auch für die Psychologie eine viel versprechende Perspektive anbietet. In einer kritischen Diskussion herkömmlicher erzähl-theoretischer Konzeptionen wird dafür plädiert, das Erzählen als eine soziale und diskursive Praxis zu verstehen, und zwar im Sinne Wittgensteins als Sprachspiel und Lebensform.'     Abstract: Poststrukturalistische sowie postmoderne Sprachphilosophie hat vielleicht die Zeit, da sie in aller Munde war, schon wieder hinter sich. Gleichwohl verankert sich gegenwärtig unter ihrem Einfluss ein Konsens darüber, dass sprachliche Zeichengefüge nicht eine ihnen vorgängige Wirklichkeit abbilden, sondern dass das, was als wahr und wirklich bezeichnet wird, ein Ergebnis sprachlicher Kommunikation darstellt. In unserer Disziplin ist dies eine Einsicht, die sich seit etwa eineinhalb Jahrzehnten insbesondere der Soziale Konstruktionismus (Gergen 1985) und die Kulturpsychologie (Bruner 1986, 1990) zu eigen gemacht haben. Sie treffen sich im Konzept eines narrativen Konstruktionismus (Gergen & Gergen 1988). Dessen zentrale These lautet: Wir stellen uns selbst und unsere Welt her, indem wir Geschichten ("narratives") erzählen, wiedererzählen und umerzählen.     Abstract: The world that DeLillo's characters live in is often portrayed with an inherent complexity beyond our comprehension, which ultimately leads to a quality of woe and wonder which is characteristic of the concept of the sublime. The inexpressibility of the events that emerge in DeLillo’s fiction has reintroduced into it what Lyotard calls "the unpresentable in presentation itself" (PC 81), or to put it in Jameson’s words, the "postmodern sublime" (38). The sublime, however, appears in DeLillo's fiction in several forms and it is the aim of this study to examine these various forms of sublimity. It is attempted to read DeLillo's Mao II in the light of theories of the sublime, drawing on figures like Burke, Kant, Lyotard, Jameson and Zizek. In DeLillo's novel, it is no longer the divine and magnificent in nature that leads to a simultaneous fear and fascination in the viewers, but the power of technology and sublime violence among other things.     Abstract: During the fifties he was considered to be an existentialist, and absurdist and later a Black Humorist, yet, John Barth proved that he would never subscribe to any specific theory and would make his own world of/about fiction by himself. A traditional postmodernist as some of the critics calls him; he was obsessed with Scheherazade the narrator of the Thousand and one Nights and her art of storytelling. This essay aims to depict Barth's employment of the frame narrative and embedding structure which are the main devices of Scheherazade's mystifying narratives.
