    ger: Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Verarbeitung und Begleitung von Trauer und Verlust bei Volksschulkindern in der Grundstufe I. Eingangs werden wesentliche Begrifflichkeiten zum Thema Tod, wie Trauer, Trauerphasen, Verabschiedung und Trauerbewältigung erläutert und definiert. Dazu werden Trauerphasenmodelle verschiedener Autoren und Autorinnen, welche den Trauerprozess in verschiedene Phasen gegliedert haben, herangezogen und analysiert. Anschließend beschäftigt sich die Arbeit mit den unterschiedlichen Begegnungen der Kinder mit dem Thema Tod und der konkreten Begleitung von trauernden Kindern. Im nachfolgenden Abschnitt werden drei Kinderbücher, die sich mit der Thematik Tod, Verlust und Verabschiedung auseinandersetzen analysiert und die Trauerphasen miteinander verglichen um festzustellen ob diese Bücher zur Verarbeitung des Trauerprozesses beziehungsweise der Trauerphasen in der Volksschule herangezogen werden können. eng: In this bachelor thesis the support of first year primary school children who have faced mourning and loss is analysed and discussed as well as how those children are processing mourning and loss. At the beginning of the paper, essential terms are defined such as death, mourning, phase of mourning, leave-taking and accomplishment of mourning. For that, models of the mourning process are considered and analysed. In those considered models various authors split the mourning process in different phases. Afterwards this paper discusses different experiences of children with death and how to support mourning children in the best way. In the practical part of the paper three children’s books, which deal with the topic of loss and farewell, are analysed. In detail, phases of mourning are compared with each other in order to find out, if these books can be considered in primary school to process mourning and mourning phases.

    Das Vorlesen gilt sowohl in der Forschung als auch in der Praxis als ein Interaktionsformat, das die kindliche Entwicklung auf verschiedenste Art und Weise fördert. Entsprechend bildet das Vorlesen ein Feld, das von einer Vielzahl an Fachdisziplinen beforscht wird. Der vorliegende Band bringt elf Beiträge zusammen, die das Vorlesen nicht nur aus den unterschiedlichen Fachperspektiven heraus beleuchten, sondern auch unterschiedliche Realisierungsorte abbilden, in denen das Vorlesen praktiziert wird: Familie, Kindergarten, Schule. Dabei werden sowohl die Frage nach interaktiven Strategien beim Vorlesen, die Sprachund Literaturerwerb befördern, als auch die Frage nach der Rolle des Buches im Vorleseprozess diskutiert. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt des Bandes liegt in der Darstellung und Aufbereitung empirischer Forschungsergebnisse, die wertvolle Anregungen und Vorschläge für das Vorlesen in der Familien-, Schul- und Kindergartenpraxis liefern

    Africa's encounter with the West and its implications and consequences remain far-reaching and enduring in the craft and thrust of its creative writers. The contributors to ALT 33 analyse the connections between traditional stories and myths that have been told to children, as well as the work of contemporary creative writers who are writing for children in order that they understand this complex history. Some of these writers are developing traditional myths, folk tales, and legends and are writing them in new forms, while others focus on the encounter with the West that has dominated much modern African literature for adults.
    The previous neglect of the cultural significance, study, criticism and teaching of children's literature is addressed in this volume: How can the successes and/or failures of stories and story-telling for children in Africa be measured? Are there models to be followed and what makes them models? What is the relationship between the text and the illustration of children's books? What should guide the reader or critic of children's literature coming out of Africa - globalism, transculturality or internal regionalism? What problems confront teachers, students, publishers and promoters of children's books in Africa? Ernest Emenyonu is Professor of Africana Studies at the University of Michigan-Flint, USA; the editorial board is composed of scholars from US, UK and African universities.Obi Nwakanma is now Reviews Editor for the series HEBN: Nigeria
