Allerdings wird dabei zunehmend deutlich, dass es an systematischen Analysen in der Interkulturalitätsforschung fehlt. Die Beiträge des Bandes bieten hier einen Überblick aus Sprach-, Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft sowie aus der Perspektive von Deutsch als Fremdsprache. Die Autorinnen und Autoren setzen sich mit weltweiten Phänomenen von Interkulturalität und ihrer (mehrsprachigen) Darstellung in Wissenschaft, Alltag und Literatur, aber auch in Theater und Film auseinander. Das gewohnte Bild geordneter Wissenschaftlichkeit schwindet, wenn die Produktion von Wissen auf spezifische materielle Kulturen zurückgeführt wird: auf die Begegnung von Instrumenten, Schreibgeräten und experimentellen Verfahren, aber auch auf das Zusammenspiel von Diskursen, Medien und Mythen.     "Es existieren mittlerweile zahlreiche empirische Untersuchungen zum Gesprächsverhalten von Männern und Frauen. Und doch ist es keinesfalls gelungen, pauschal ein grundsätzlich unterschiedliches geschlechtsspezifisches Gesprächsverhalten nachzuweisen. Auch wurde in diesem Zusammenhang vielfach die Gesprächswahrnehmung der Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer vernachlässigt. An diesen Punkten setzt die vorliegende Masterarbeit an und ergründet in einer empirischen Studie die Fragestellungen, ob und inwieweit „Geschlecht“ innerhalb einer konkreten Interaktionssituation ausschlaggebend ist, inwieweit es im Gespräch konstruiert wird und Geschlechterdifferenzen aktiviert werden. Ebenfalls wird der Frage nachgegangen, inwieweit die Wahrnehmung und Beurteilung von Situation und Gesprächspartnern durch das eigene Geschlecht und das der Gesprächspartner beeinflusst und von einer stereotypen Geschlechtervorstellung gesteuert wird. Die theoretische Grundlage der Arbeit bildet der Ansatz des „Doing Gender“. Daraus abgeleitet, werden - die aktive und interaktive Herstellung von „Geschlecht“ und - die (eingefärbte) Wahrnehmung bezogen auf konkrete Interaktionssituationen untersucht. Das Vorgehen bei der Datenerhebung und Datenauswertung bildet dabei die Schnittstelle von Sprach- und Kommunikationswissenschaft. Mithilfe der „interaktiven Verfahren“ von Brinker und Sager werden anhand dreier gemischtgeschlechtlicher Kleingruppengespräche innerhalb des „lokalen und regionalen Managements“ die kommunikativen Praktiken, welche „Doing Gender“ deutlich machen, analysiert. Darüber hinaus wird die individuelle Gesprächswahrnehmung und -beurteilung ermittelt. Grundlage hierfür sind im Anschluss an die Gruppendiskussionen einzeln geführte Leitfadeninterviews, die mit der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring ausgewertet werden. Ein Vergleich zwischen den in den Leitfadeninterviews gegebenen Einschätzungen und dem transkribierten Geschehen innerhalb der Gruppendiskussionen rundet die Analyse ab.     Wie positionieren sich Gewerkschaften gegenüber fortdauernden Geschlechterungleichheiten auf dem Arbeitsmarkt in Deutschland und in Frankreich? Dies wird im historischen Vergleich, im Vergleich der Organisationen sowie von typischen Deutungsmustern gewerkschaftlicher Geschlechterpolitik untersucht. Als Ergebnis ihrer Geschichte gestalten sich die Geschlechterverhältnisse in französischen Gewerkschaften egalitärer. Im Geschlechterwissen, das aus qualitativen Interviews mit GewerkschaftssekretärInnen rekonstruiert wurde, finden sich aber auch länderübergreifende Gemeinsamkeiten. So kommen in der Typologie von Deutungsmustern gewerkschaftlicher Geschlechterpolitik parallele Probleme der ungleichen Arbeitsteilung der Geschlechter sowie der Ausbreitung prekärer Beschäftigungsverhältnisse zum Ausdruck.Judith Holland hat am Institut für Soziologie der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg promoviert. Ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte liegen in der Arbeits- und Industriesoziologie, der Geschlechterforschung, der vergleichenden Gesellschaftsanalyse sowie der rekonstruktiven Sozialforschung. How are trade unions reacting to the persisting gender inequalities in the labour market in Germany and France? This study addresses this question using a historical comparison, a comparison of the organisations in question as well as a comparison of typical interpretation patterns of trade union gender politics. While gender relations in French trade unions turn out to be more egalitarian, positive discrimination of women is especially important in German trade unions. Historically, this can be explained by the development of different structures and the cultures of women’s employment and trade unions in both countries. However, gendered knowledge, which was reconstructed here from qualitative interviews with union secretaries, also shows cross-national similarities. Thus, the typology of interpretive patterns of union-based gender politics expresses parallel problems in the unequal division of labour between the sexes and the spread of precarious employment.

Auch in den Sozialwissenschaften finden sich bis heute nur einige wenige konzeptuelle Beiträge zu dieser Figur. Das vorliegende Buch widmet sich anhand des empirischen Beispiels der Psoriasis-Forschung in Deutschland der Frage, wer oder was heute auf dem Spiel steht, wenn Menschen zu Versuchspersonen in der biomedizinischen Forschung werden. Auf der Grundlage qualitativer Interviews mit PatientInnen und ForscherInnen lässt sich im Studien-Setting eine Gleichzeitigkeit der Abwesenheit von Beziehungen zwischen PatientInnen einerseits und der Anwesenheit von Infrastrukturen der Sorge sowie intensiver Beziehungsarbeit andererseits herausarbeiten. Geteilte Care-Arbeit gerät dabei zur notwendigen Bedingung für die Hervorbringung generalisierbaren Wissens. Ein der feministischen Wissenschafts- und Technikforschung entlehnter Begriff von Care und Care-Arbeit dient vor dem Hintergrund dieser Erkenntnisse als theoretische Klammer, die es erlaubt, die Vielgestaltigkeit der Figur Versuchsperson sichtbar zu machen.

    Was passiert mit den großen Klassikern von 1900, wenn man an sie den Maßstab mathematischer, physikalischer und medientechnischer Diskurse anlegt? Die Fragen nach dem Gegenstand der Soziologie, nach sozialem Handeln, Mensch und Gesellschaft stellen sich unter diesem Blickwinkel auf neue Weise. Für Medientheoretiker/innen mag hingegen interessant sein, wie viel Marx noch in Kittlers Theorie steckt und was das alles für das Aufschreibesystem 2000 bedeutet. Moritz Mutter arbeitet in der vorliegenden Arbeit heraus, wie sich die Axiomatik der Mathematik in gleicher Weise von der anthropologisch rückgekoppelten Anschaulichkeit löst wie die Verstehende Soziologie mit ihrer Axiomatisierung von »Handlungen«; wie bei Weber der »Mensch« als Träger all dieser Handlungen zwar noch postuliert, aber nicht mehr widerspruchsfrei konstruiert werden kann; wie Durkheim in strenger Parallele zur modernen Mathematik einen Existenzbeweis der Gesellschaft entwickelt, der mit voller Absicht die Existenz einer Form ohne jeden Inhalt beweist und von dort zum Aufbau der Soziologie als wissenschaftlicher Disziplin schreitet. Moritz Mutter studierte Publizistik, Kulturwissenschaften und Soziologie in Berlin und Frankfurt/Oder. Von 2013–2016 war er Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im interdisziplinären Forschungsprojekt »The Principle of Disruption« in Siegen und Dresden und promovierte dort im Jahr 2017. Seither leitet er das Projekt »Digitale Welten« des Verbundes der Öffentlichen Bibliotheken Berlins.

    Good Humor, Bad Taste is the first extensive sociological study of the relationship between humor and social background. Using a combination of interview materials, survey data, and historical materials, the book explores the relationship between humor and gender, age, regional background, and especially, humor and social class in the Netherlands. The final chapter focuses on national differences, exploring the differences between the American and the Dutch sense of humor, again using a combination of interview and survey materials. The starting point for this exploration of differences in sense of humor is one specific humorous genre: the joke. The joke is not a very prestigious genre; in the Netherlands even less so than in the US. It is precisely this lack of status that made it a good starting point for asking questions about humor and taste. Interviewees generally had very pronounced opinions about the genre, calling jokes "their favorite kind humor", but also "completely devoid of humor" and "a form of intellectual poverty". Good Humor, Bad Taste attempts to explain why jokes are good humor to some, bad taste to others. The focus on this one genre enables Good Humor, Bad Taste to have a very wide scope. The book not only covers the appreciation and evaluation of jokes by different social groups and in different cultures, and its relationship with wider humor styles. It also describes the genre itself: the history of the genre, its decline in status from the sixteenth century onward, and the way the topics and the tone of jokes have changed over the last fifty years of the twentieth century
