    "Die kalte Sprache avisiert eine mögliche Form des Produktions- und Rezeptionsablaufs von Kunst, der die Autorität des Lesers (notwendigerweise) in Frage stellt. Dieser ist nämlich diskursiv reglementiert, was die Lektüre oft zu Ungunsten der "künstlerischen Werte" (Roman Ingarden) der Literatur beeinflusst. Die Kunstwerke betreiben innerhalb ihrer Rhetorik eine Emanzipation von dieser Einbettung. So hat sich ein Großteil der modernen Lyrik endgültig von der Transportierung von Themen und Botschaften verabschiedet und vermehrt den Prozess ihrer eigenen Entstehung oder poetologischen Sachverhalte - zum Teil in metaphorisch-verschlüsselter Form - zur Darstellung gebracht und somit zur Konstituierung einer Art Metalyrik beigetragen.     Ángela Figuera Aymerich war zeitgenössisch in die literarischen Netzwerke der poesía social integriert. Allerdings ist sie erst seit den 1980er Jahren in den Kanon derselben aufgestiegen, als spanische und englischsprachige Literarturwissenschaftler begannen, sich um mehr Geschlechtergerechtigkeit zu bemühen. Sie haben ausgehend von metalyrischen und poetologischen Reflexionen der Autorin zwei Phasen in ihrer Lyrik herausgearbeitet. Diese Phasen analysiert der Artikel mit Ideen Simone de Beauvoirs und mit Adrienne Richs Unterscheidung von Mutterschaft als Erfahrung und als Institution. Für die erste Phase wird argumentiert, dass Figuera Mutterschaft als Institution zwar noch weitgehend affirmiert, aber bereits weibliche Körperlichkeit in der gleichrangigen Partnerschaft mit dem Mann hervorhebt. Mit der zweiten Phase, die der poesía social zugerechnet wird und sich als poesía impura präsentiert, fokussiert Figuera Mutterschaft dann als Differenzerfahrung und biologisches Potenzial. Gegenüber der nationalkatholischen Doktrin des Franco-Regimes von Frauen als Mütter und Ehefrauen entwirft Figuera eine „maternidad disidente“ (Zabala 2003) der kollektiven Verweigerung. ; Despite her contemporary integration in the literary networks of the poesía social, Ángela Figuera Aymerich only ascended to its canon due to research efforts for more gender fairness since the 1980s. With respect to her poetry, critics distinguish fundamentally between two phases which Figuera reflected metalyrically and poetologically. This article analyses these phases using both ideas of Simone de Beauvoir and Adrienne Rich’s distinction between motherhood as experience and as institution. For the first phase, it will be argued that Figuera affirms motherhood as institution to a large extent, but already stresses the physicalness of women who are seen as equal in the partnership with men. With the second phase which pertains to the poesía social and which is presented as poesía impura, Figuera focusses on motherhood as differentiating experience and biological potential. Instead of portraying women as wifes and as mothers, Figuera sketches a collective refusal of motherhood, thereby shaping a „maternidad disidente“ (Zabala 2003) and challenging francoist National Catholicism.

    Twentieth-Century Metapoetry and the Lyric Tradition reveals the unique value of metapoems for exploring twentieth-century poetry. By placing these texts into a hitherto barely investigated literary-historical perspective, it demonstrates that modern metapoetry is steeped in the lyric tradition to a much greater extent than previously acknowledged. Since these literary continuities that cut across epochal boundaries can be traced across all major poetic movements, they challenge established accounts of the history of twentieth-century poetry that postulate a radical break with the (immediate) past. Moreover, the finding that metapoems perpetuate traditional forms and topoi distinguishes metapoetry historically and systematically from metafiction and metadrama. After highlighting the most important differences as regards to the function of metareference in poetry on the one side, and in fiction and drama on the other, the book concludes with a discussion of how to account for these generic differences theoretically. With its "extraordinarily subtle and perceptive" (Ronald Bush, St. John's College, Oxford) interpretive readings of over one hundred metapoems by canonical anglophone authors, it offers the first representative selection of twentieth-century poems about poetry in English

    Die kalte Sprache avisiert eine mögli-che Form des Produktions- und Rezep-tionsablaufs von Kunst, der die Autori-tät des Lesers (notwendigerweise) in Frage stellt. Dieser ist nämlich diskursiv reglemen-tiert, was die Lektüre oft zu Ungunsten der „künstlerischen Werte“ (Roman Ingarden) der Literatur beeinflusst. Die Kunstwerke betreiben innerhalb ihrer Rhetorik eine Emanzipation von dieser Einbettung. So hat sich ein Großteil der modernen Lyrik endgültig von der Transportierung von Themen und Botschaften verabschiedet und ver-mehrt den Prozess ihrer eigenen Ent-stehung oder poetologische Sachver-halte – zum Teil in metaphorisch-verschlüsselter Form – zur Darstellung gebracht und somit zur Konstituierung einer Art Metalyrik beigetragen. Auch auf der Rezeptionsebene hat eine auf tropologische Merkmale eines Kunst-werks sich spezialisierende Betrach-tung bestimmte Aspekte wie Gefühl, Erlebnis, Intention, Bedürfnisbefriedi-gung und Trost außer acht zu lassen.
