    Dance practice is gaining just as much in importance in research as it is becoming a kind of research in itself. Choreography, improvisation and exploration are expanding conventional discursive methods of knowledge generation and transfer to incorporate aesthetic dimensions of movement, corporeality, sensuality and emotion. This volume, with its interdisciplinary structure, provides an insight into the multi-faceted trend of research approaches that have either developed directly from, or refer back to, dance practice. Using projects as concrete examples, the contributions in this volume present theoretical and methodological foundations and historical connections advances in knowledge. Tanzpraxis gewinnt in der Forschung ebenso an Bedeutung wie sie selbst zur Forschung avanciert. Choreographie, Improvisation und Exploration erweitern herkömmliche diskursive Methoden der Wissensgenerierung und Wissensvermittlung um aisthetische Dimensionen der Bewegung, des Leiblichen, Sinnlichen und Affektiven. Dieser interdisziplinär angelegte Band eröffnet einen Einblick in die facettenreiche Vielfalt von Forschungsansätzen, die unmittelbar aus der Tanzpraxis hervorgehen oder auf tänzerische Praxen zurückgreifen.     Revisualising Intersectionality offers transdisciplinary interrogations of the supposed visual evidentiality of categories of human similarity and difference. This open-access book incorporates insights from social and cognitive science as well as psychology and philosophy to explain how we visually perceive physical differences and how cognition is fallible, processual, and dependent on who is looking in a specific context. Revisualising Intersectionality also puts into conversation visual culture studies and artistic research with approaches such as gender, queer, and trans studies as well as postcolonial and decolonial theory to complicate simplified notions of identity politics and cultural representation. The book proposes a revision of intersectionality research to challenge the predominance of categories of visible difference such as race and gender as analytical lenses.

Dieser Entwicklung folgend hat die Universität Bern gemeinsam mit der Hochschule der Künste Bern das erste Schweizerische Doktoratsprogramm für Künstler*innen und Gestalter*innen gegründet: Studies in the Arts (SINTA). Die an diesem Projekt beteiligten Beiträger*innen des Bandes liefern hierzu grundsätzliche Erwägungen und Fallbeispiele sowie praktische Anwendungen in Interpretation, Musikrezeption und Design.

Everything that in one academic or artistic discipline is considered secure knowledge loses its self-evidence in the face of both inter-, trans-, and post-disciplinary Wenn Wissenskulturen aufeinandertreffen, kann das verunsichern: All das, was in der eigenen wissenschaftlichen oder künstlerischen Disziplin als gesichertes Wissen gilt, verliert in inter-, trans- und postdiszplinären Konzepten sowie konkreten Begegnungen an Selbstverständlichkeit. Zugleich können sich dabei Experimentalräume eröffnen, in denen Inhalte anders gedacht und durch alternative Formen und Methoden generiert werden. Die Beiträger_innen des Bandes gehen in theoretischen Aufsätzen und anhand konkreter und experimenteller Beispiele den Resonanzen wie Dissonanzen, möglichen Berührungszonen, gemeinsamen Potenzialen und neuen Erkenntnisinteressen nach, die sich aus dialogischen Begegnungen - das heißt: im Dazwischen verschiedener Wissenschaften und Künste - ergeben können
