The story “Ja nicht ja” was written specifically for the volume “Der siebenbürgische Voltaire. Walther Gottfried Seidner zum 80. Geburtstag” by the famous novelist Eginald Schlattner. It brings the communist regime and the Department of State Security into the focus of the reader. During a meeting in the early 1990s attended by evangelical Lutheran priests of Augustan Confession a young priest admitted that he was a collaborator of the State Security, and thus managed to take over the burden of being an informant on the shoulders of others. Father Walther Gottfried Seidner, who was also threatened, managed to avoid State Security at any price, and understanding the situation of the young priest takes his defense.

The hereby article deals with situational integration in Franz Hodjak‘s poetry. The lyrical work of the Sibiuborn author never refers to a classical „arrival“, but to a permanent voyage, that does not act exclusively as selfknowledge, but especially as a univocal refusal of identity. Hodjak creates his own topography, looking for an interspace beyond common categories, a place that provides a possibility of non-hindered existence for the human being.

This article deals with the works of the Iraqi writer Abbas Khider who lives in Germany. His works revolve around a major topic, namely, the life of the ordinary Arab citizen under dictatorship. In all Arab countries, dictatorship has been able to set up and update a new cultural fashion based on oppression and persecution, looking man down and depriving him of his freedom.

Our writer has suffered so much from dictatorship which pushed him to live in delinquency from one country to the other. Building on this, the article is attempting through linking the author’s autobiography to the major events and characters of his works to point to the nature of the Arab dictatorship dominating in the Arab world before the Arab Spring which would contribute to understanding the works of Khider and identify their real content.

This article is a critical presentation of the study Der Zauber des fernen Königreichs. Carmen Sylvas Pelesch-Märchen/Farmecul regatului îndepãrtat. Poveştile Peleşului, (The Magic of the Faraway Kingdom. Carmen Sylva’s Tales of the Pelesh), edited at the Ibidem publishing house in Frankfurt this year. The author proves that – contrary to some opinions in current literary criticism, according to which the works of the queen poet were but recorded and retold Romanian folk tales and legends – Carmen Sylva’s writings are personal works with intrinsic literary value, where themes and motifs from the folklore and mythology or from the Romanian and occidental literature are used only as pre-texts. Silvia Zimmermann’s merit is a significant one, namely that of rediscovering Carmen Sylva who has not only been a creator, but also an important mediator between the Romanian and the German culture.
