Publishing on CompaRe

CompaRe is available to scholars, research institutes and projects, and publishers in the field of Comparatve Literaure as an open access platform. The publications we accept include:

  • Scholarly articles
  • Articles from edited volumes
  • Monographs
  • Edited volumes
  • Monograph series
  • Journals
  • Conference reports
  • Lecture notes and slides
  • Supplementary materials
  • ... and more

CompaRe is primarily a platform for what is known as the “green road” to open access – the re-publication of material which has already appeared in published form. In this context, please also take note of the information we provide regarding legal issues.

We also very much welcome first publications by authors who work in literature or cultural studies departments at universities or publicly funded research institutes. On this topic, please also look into our service for the hosting of e-journals.

(Please note that we can only offer our service to journals with a subject focus on Comparative Literature).

It’s this easy!

You send us a publication which you would like to have on CompaRe, and we do the rest. Of course this requires your individual consent in each case. A simple declaration of consent also confirms that you are in possession of the copyright.

You can send us your signed declaration of consent along with a version of the publication as a pdf (or a link for downloading) in the following ways:

  • by e-mail to info(at)avldigital.remove-this.de
  • by post to:

    Fachinformationsdienst AVL
    Jakob Jung
    Universitätsbibliothek J. C. Senckenberg
    Bockenheimer Landstr. 134-138
    60325 Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Alternatively, you are welcome to use our contact form to get in touch with us.

CompaRe as an open access partner

Scholars

CompaRe offers scholars in the field of Comparative Literature the opportunity to make their publications available online without having to deal with time-consuming self-archiving. Contact us!

Research institutes and projects

Universities, research groups, specialised research departments, research training groups – all of them can benefit from CompaRe as an open access partner. The publication of the results of their group’s work on CompaRe – and thus in avldigital.de – makes these results more visible to the Comparative Literature community.

We would be happy to advise you regarding your publication options for edited volumes, papers, conference publications, and many other types of documents – including planning an open-access policy for your institute.

Many research institutes are already making use of CompaRe’s services. Click here for more information.

Scientific publishers

Scientific publishers

CompaRe offers scientific publishers the opportunity to make their publications more widely known via a centralised and professional platform. We offer the following options:

  • Selective access
Publication of individual chapters of an edited volume or individual articles from a journal as a teaser for the publication as a whole.
  • Delayed access
A moving wall makes publications available in open access after a certain period has expired.
  • Open access direct
Material is simultaneously published in print and in open access form. This can be combined with selective access publication.
  • Supplemental open access
First publication of articles which had to be omitted from print publications due to lack of space, or publication of additional supplementary material (e.g. statistics, annexes with graphics, and much more).
