Visiting Lecturer of German and German Studies, Wheaton College

A one-year term appointment with a possibility of renewal. Teaching assignment for this full-time Visiting Lectureship will include courses at the elementary and/or intermediate level, an upper-division bridge course in contemporary German culture (writing intensive), and an upper-division literature or culture course. Position begins August, 2019.

Requirements: Ph.D. in German Studies (preferred), Germanic Languages and Literatures, or Second Language Acquisition with a focus in German. Native or near-native fluency in German and a record of outstanding teaching at elementary and/or intermediate levels are essential, as is the ability to recruit, retain, and mentor German Studies majors and minors in close collaboration with permanent German Section faculty. Experience or exceptionally strong potential in innovative German Studies course design and delivery highly desirable.
