The private foundations Dr. Günther Findel-Stiftung/Rolf und Ursula Schneider-Stiftung run fellowship programmes for doctoral candidates in Wolfenbüttel. These programmes are open to applicants from Germany and abroad and from all disciplines. They fund young scholars who are working on projects linked to the Herzog August Bibliothek’s holdings. The Herzog August Bibliothek functions as one of Europe’s most important research libraries. Its unique rare book and manuscript holdings and special collections, such as print, painting and historical map collections, are famous all around the world. Applicants may apply for a fellowship of between 2 and 10 months.
The fellowships are € 1.300 per month. Fellowship holders are housed in library accommodation for the duration of the fellowship and pay the rent from their fellowship. There is also an allowance of € 100 per month to cover costs of copying, reproductions etc. Candidates can apply for a travel allowance if no funds are available to them from other sources. Doktorandenstipendium an der Herzog August Bibliothek
Die in Wolfenbüttel errichteten Stiftungen, Dr. Günther Findel-Stiftung zur Förderung der Wissenschaften und die Rolf und Ursula Schneider-Stiftung zur Förderung der Geschichtswissenschaften, vergeben Stipendien an besonders befähigte akademische Nachwuchskräfte (Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden). Das internationale Programm steht allen historisch orientierten Fachrichtungen offen. Es fördert Projekte, deren Realisierung mittels der Bestände der Herzog August Bibliothek erfolgen soll.
Die Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel ist eine der wichtigsten Forschungsbibliotheken Europas. Ihre einzigartigen Buch- und Manuskriptbestände sowie Sondersammlungen (u.a. zu Graphiken, Gemälden und Karten) sind weltweit bekannt. In diesem Programm werden Stipendien für zwei bis zehn Monate vergeben.
Die Stipendien belaufen sich auf € 1.300 monatlich. Die Unterbringung der Stipendiaten während dieser Zeit erfolgt in den Gästehäusern der Bibliothek. Die Miete ist aus dem Stipendium zu entrichten. Es wird eine Materialkostenpauschale von monatlich € 100 gewährt. Ein Reisekostenzuschuss kann beantragt werden, wenn die Kosten nicht von dritter Seite übernommen werden können. Es besteht eine Residenzpflicht in Wolfenbüttel. Bitte fordern Sie ein Bewerbungsformular an, aus dem hervorgeht, welche Unterlagen eingereicht werden müssen.
