 TheoryArt&ArtTheory - WorkingGroup FG DeKolonial e.V.

Against the backdrop of THE 100-ANNIVERSARY OF THE FRANKFURT SCHOOL, celebrating it, this year’s events of the Working Group TheoryArt&ArtTheory will focus on the Frankfurt School and its work as decolonial thought and for decolonial thought.

In this first event we will begin with some reflections on the brilliant and still much underdiscussed work of Herbert Marcuse and his inclination towards the knowledge of literature. We will interlink these with Angela Davis and her reading of lyric as well as with Edward W. Said and the revelations of the novel, to discuss the idea of ‘justice’ and how we can (re-)think ways to make our world a better place.

This first part will be followed by an introduction of the WorkingGroup TheoryArt&ArtTheory and how we want to proceed from here.
