Essay proposals for a volume on the work of Spanish poet, novelist, and essayist Agustín Fernández Mallo, to be edited by Ana León-Távora (Salem College) and Zachary Rockwell Ludington (U of Maine).

Following our MLA 2021 panel, “General Trash Heap of Theory: Agustín Fernández Mallo’s Iconoclastic Aesthetics,” we invite abstracts of 300 words for proposed essays to be included in a future volume in English on Fernández Mallo’s work. We welcome heterogeneous approaches to Fernández Mallo’s works, although we are particularly interested in essays that trace connections between the author’s scientific sources and methodologies, his critical writings, and his poetry and novels.

  • 300-word abstracts due: May 30, 2021. Please send a Word or PDF document to ana.leon-tavora[at]salem.edu and/or zachary.r.ludington[at]maine.edu.
  • Invitations to selected authors to prepare complete manuscripts should be expected around July 1, 2021.
  • Complete essays (7000-9000 words) due: December 31, 2021
