Assistant Lecturer in German in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Ref.: 498533) (to commence on January 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and availability of funding)

Applicants should possess a relevant Master’s degree with proven expertise in the teaching of German as a foreign language plus normally 3 years’ experience in teaching courses at all levels at tertiary education. The appointee is expected to teach a range of language courses at various levels, to develop new courses, and to design original teaching materials and various modes of assessment. Native or near native speaker fluency in German and fluency in English are required. IT skills in language teaching will be a distinct advantage.  

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Please note that the University is not able to offer a relocation assistant package (including temporary University housing accommodation and a passage and baggage allowance) to the successful candidate recruited from overseas.
