ICI Berlin Institute for Cultural Inquiry

Das ICI Berlin ist ein unabhängiges Kultur- und Forschungsinstitut, das sich der Frage widmet, wie unterschiedliche Kulturen – außer in Form von gleichgültigem Nebeneinander oder zerstörerischem Konflikt – in eine produktive Spannung gebracht werden können.

Dazu entwirft es Leitprojekte, die für eine interdisziplinäre und internationale Gruppe von Fellows den Ausgangspunkt eigener Forschung und Aktivitäten bilden. Im thematischen Umfeld der Leitprojekte führt das Institut auch vielfältige wissenschaftliche und kulturelle Veranstaltungen durch.

Das Institut versteht sich als Plattform für eine wechselseitige Befruchtung von internationaler Forschung, kultureller Praxis und lokalem Engagement, steht Kooperationen mit Institutionen und Projekten offen gegenüber und begrüßt Vorschläge für Gast- und Kooperationsveranstaltungen ebenso wie Forschungsanbindungen von Gastwissenschaftlerinnen.
