The purpose of this workshop is to question the history, the meaning, the use and the utility of the notions of Lumières – Aufklärung – Enlightenment – Illuminismo. To this end, each intervention will be based on the critical reading of one or more books, old or recent, touching these notions, which will serve as a support for a personal reflection on what they cover for the speaker.
Le but de ces journées d’étude est d’interroger l’histoire, le contenu, l’usage et la pertinence des notions de Lumières – Aufklärung – Enlightenment – Illuminismo. A cette fin, chaque intervention s’appuiera sur la lecture critique d’un ou de plusieurs ouvrages, anciens ou récents, touchant à ces notions, lecture qui servira de support à une réflexion personnelle sur ce qu’elles recouvrent pour l’intervenant.
Ziel dieses Workshops ist es, die Begriffe Lumières – Aufklärung – Enlightenment – Illuminismo auf ihre Geschichte, ihren Gehalt, ihre Verwendungsweisen und nicht zuletzt ihre Tauglichkeit hin zu befragen. Zu diesem Zweck stützt sich jeder Vortragende auf die kritische Lektüre eines einzelnen oder mehrerer Werke der älteren oder jüngeren Forschungsliteratur und stellt, in Auseinandersetzung damit, seine eigenen Überlegungen zur Diskussion.
